Two reasons deter S'poreans from suing. The $$$$ involves at least $200,000 easily. No certainty of winning. You should know how the courts operate.

If this took place in a real 1st world, millions will be paid out to families of victims.
We should allow champerty here. Let the lawyers make an assessment. Once in, no harm them getting 30-50% of the pay out. Win-win situation.

most likely crappy best practice on hygiene as a result of 3rd world nursing and medical staff. they almost always ignore and avoid sanitizing the tubes, whether it's renal, blood, iv, or dental cleaning. there's a bunch of pinoy-run clinics in the u.s. that are notorious for not cleaning, sanitizing or replacing old used tubes, including pumps and valves. a big YUCKS!
