PETALING JAYA (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - The red shirt rally planned for Saturday (Sept 26) has run into problems after an Umno local leader who had theatened a riot in Petaling Street was arrested and another man backtracked on his vow to "attack the place every week".

Datuk Jamal Md Yunos, the Sungai Besar Umno chief, was arrested by a team from the Dang Wangi police station at 9pm on Friday, according to his secretary Durrany Izam.

Kuala Lumpur CID chief SAC Datuk Zainuddin Ahmad confirmed that Jamal had been arrested under Section 105 of the Criminal Procedure Code over his alleged threat to cause a riot.

Earlier in the day, Jamal had disassociated himself from the rally and said he would not be there on Saturday.

"I am not involved, and I am not going to be in Petaling Street," he said, adding that he did not know if others would gather.

On Friday, Jamal had said he was present at the Sept 16 rally as a middleman.

"The police asked me to help disperse the crowd and that is all I did," he said, adding that he did not organise either rally.

Meantime, Mohd Ali Baharom, who claimed to be one of the organisers, backtracked on his vow to attack Petaling Street.

He had said on Friday that "we will attack Petaling Street every week until shop lots are allocated to Malays and Indians."

It was later reported on a news portal that he, too, had called off the rally. However, he did not rule out a rally held by others.

"We can't guarantee there won't be a rally tomorrow (Saturday). If there is, it's not from us," he was quoted as saying.

The red shirt rally on Sept 16 was held in support of embattled Prime Minister Najib Razak and aimed at asserting the Malays' political power. It was meant to counter last month's Bersih protest, which called for Datuk Seri Najib to step down over a funding controversy and attended largely by Chinese.

The rally was largely peaceful, although police were forced to disperse an unruly crowd in Petaling Street with water cannon.

Najib blew his own cover when he openly praised the red shirt demonstrators for being "peaceful". His lackey has been overtly organizing the movement. It is not even a covert operation. This is done in the public view. No matter how many people are "arrested" for this, it is surely all a wayang. The red shirts are Najib's way of securing power through playing the Malay/Muslim race card. He knows that this has worked before and will work again.

.....UMNO makes PAP look good....

...but shitting in their pants that no racial riots erupted in mudland would spill over to sinkie land...

Najib playing with fire by supporting red shirts (symbol of fire)...and now he cannot control the fire. He must pray hard no one gets killed in such red shirts rallies or it will be the end for him and all his cronies for starting the fire which may spread beyond his control.

Will someone else add fuel to the fire so that ultimately it will spread to Najib and roast his 2 balls as well? Very likely scenario and pappies are indeed dumb if no contingency plan put in place now to prevent it from spreading to sinkie land.

No need to get overjoyed...this arrest is mere wayang....he is probably given a cosy room, TV to watch and can also have access to his stable of gurls...

Malaysia had come a long way from May 13, 1969 & KL was becoming a cosmopolitan city in recent years, much more tolerant than in the 70's, 80's & the 90's....but with Najib, it had quickly slide back to 1969.

This is what corrupt politicians do when they are desperate to stay in power. They won't mind losing a few lives (collateral damage). Once the racial tinderbox is lit, very hard to put it out. Najib is playing a dangerous game. One day there will be blood on his hands.

All sinkies must pray hard racial riots must never ever occur in the island ... what is happening in mudland, or will happen in mudland, must be restricted to that country, and not spread to the island... Johor Sultan will not allow it to happen in his State but no one knows how it will spread once it is started in KL.

Najib is a dying man trying to stay alive. With FBI on his arse, he is a goner.

As the saying goes ..."power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely..." With the BN controlling Parliament, just like Woody said "ownself check ownself" ... it give BN absolute power over mudlanders.

Luckily, pappies are dumb but still white ...

Only the bastards Indonesian m&ds use race and their satanic religion to gain power. Dont have to worry about others. And dont trust Johor sultan. As a Muslim they are all two-faced bastards. Has he charged anyone for racial incitement? Islam is crime syndicate. The Sultan earns a lot of money and power from this syndicate. Like typical Muslims they will have a group to incite and others to speak peacefully. Its like good cop bad cop story to confuse you. But they will both profit from your demise and they are definitely working together.
