Democracy restored on 12 Sep 2015 - PAP wiped out
All the elected political parties for the General Election are meeting to decide on a coalition government for the first time in Singapore history. WP with the most seats in Parliament will appoint a Prime Minister and it's likely to be LTK. Sylvia Lim will be DPM and Minister of Defence. Png Eng Huat will be Finance Minister. Pritam appointed as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chen Show Mao will be Minister of Law. Mohd Faisal will be Minister of Home Affairs. WP wants to anchor all the critical Ministries and Ministry of Defence to prevent a coup from the army.
NSP with 12 seats wants to have a big say too and wrest a DPM position. NSP President Sebastian Teo will be DPM. New political starlet, Kervyn Lim, will be Minister of Social and Family Development to restore dignity for less fortunate sinkees.
Reform Party and SDP will get 2 ministerial positions each. Roy Nerng being the advocate of CPF will be Minister of Manpower who is overseeing CPF board. Roy is going to enact a law to change the CPF to a pension scheme, henceforth known as Singapore Pension Fund (SPF) with a baseline monthly income for retirees set at $2k a month. The maximum amount will be set at $3k. CPF contribution rate will be reduced to 10 percent for employees. Singaporeans will be able to withdraw the excess contribution they have made over their working life. An audit will be done on the CPF to ascertain if there has been wrongdoing by the previous PAP government. Kenneth Jeyaretnam will be Minister of National Development who will see that the cost of HDB flats is affordable by setting the price to cost plus 10 percent. Land acquisition cost will be based on acutals, not the fudge number used by the PAP. SDP Dr CSJ will be Minister of Health where healthcare will be free to all Singaporeans.
The only Ministry no parties want to take up is Transport and Han Hui Hui who won her Radin Mas seat will be appointed Transport Minister. She intends to make MRT and the bus services a public system. There will no longer be millionaire CEOs in SMRT.
LTK told the other parties that a forensic audit will be conducted to established the true wealth of this country. It is believed that Temasek and GIC have only about the $50 billion, that is only 1/3, of the assets that the PAP has boasted. LTK indicated that to reduce the number of fat cats in these two agencies, a new entity called the Singapore Sovereign Fund will take over the assets of Temasek and GIC. It is expected to realize a savings of at least $70 million annually.
LTK told the people that he will move quickly to secure Singapore and hold the PAP accountable. Forensic audits of all the ministries and GLC will be conducted. The top judge will be replaced by a reputable top judge from UK who is tasked to revamp of the judicial system to make it independent. The head of police and military will be replaced as well. All senior PAP member and their families will be banned from traveling until the audit is completed.
The Coalition Government will build a country for Singaporeans and modelled after the Scandinavian countries. Singaporeans can only be happy if they are free of financial worries and the state will use taxation to take care of the major expenses in life, namely, health care, education, childcare, unemployment insurance and retirement. With government help, everyone can have a middle class existence. Those who wish for more wealth are not being held back.
Meanwhile Lee Hsien Loong dissolved the PAP, took the millions he earned during his career and bought a sea front resort in Caribbean island and retired there. While strolling on the beach with Ho Ching one day, he saw a magnificent Palace which is 10 times bigger and more posh than his. He was telling Ho Ching this must either be Bill Gates or Larry Ellison's palace. From far, he saw someone familiar and that person called out, "Hsien Loong, you are here, come join me and Rosmah for dinner."
"Ladies and Gentleman, please fasten your seatbelt as we are landing in Singapore shortly." I woke up in exuberance, realizing that it was a dream that could come true on September 12!
