Temasek squandered billions of dollars of tax payers' funds in to Thug-Sin's Shin-Corp, and had offered high political profile to the ousted Thug to spark blasting from angry Thais, not too long ago. Now the entire Thug family is on the run jumping bail and seeking political asylum.

I challenge old dog thief Lee Kuan Yew's famiLEE LEEgime to offer political asylum to their best friend Thug-sin & family. In particular Jayakumar should throw a big welcome banquet consisting of Thug-sin's favorite Ng Ah Soi Bak Kut Teh from red dot.

:-)

Thug-sin is another big time money laundering customer, and membership should have privileges in this red under the Asian father of Corruption old dog thief LKy.

It is safe bet for any body that General Than Shwe and Robert Mugabe and Chen Shui Bian or any big time corrupt politicians are club members in LKy's world class corruption hub. These ugly facts are getting very obvious and notorious worldwide. :p

Thaksin seeks UK asylum as Thais step up protests

By Raphael Minder in Hong Kong

<script type="text/javascript" language="javascript"> function floatContent(){var paraNum = "3" paraNum = paraNum - 1;var tb = document.getElementById('floating-con');var nl = document.getElementById('floating-target');if(tb.getElementsByTagName("div").length> 0){if (nl.getElementsByTagName("p").length>= paraNum){nl.insertBefore(tb,nl.getElementsByTagName("p")[paraNum]);}else {if (nl.getElementsByTagName("p").length == 3){nl.insertBefore(tb,nl.getElementsByTagName("p")[2]);}else {nl.insertBefore(tb,nl.getElementsByTagName("p")[0]);}}}}</script>Thaksin Shinawatra, Thailand's ousted prime minister, is seeking political asylum in the UK, a move that could trigger diplomatic tensions as protests mount in Bangkok for his extradition.

On Tuesday about 10,000 people marched to the British embassy in the Thai capital to press for the return of Mr Thaksin to face fraud charges. Last week a Thai judge issued arrest warrants for Mr Thaksin and his wife after they failed to appear in court and instead flew to the UK after attending the Beijing Olympic Games.

Mr Thaksin's wife, Pojamarn, and her brother were sentenced to three years' imprisonment last month in a separate case involving tax evasion on a share transaction.

A lawyer for Mr Thaksin said yesterday that his client was seeking political asylum without specifying on what grounds. He said Mr Thaksin could claim a breach of his rights or liberty or even a threat to personal safety.
Mr Thaksin's legal troubles have been an acute embarrassment for a government elected last December on a pro-Thaksin ticket but which has faced mass protests because of its links to the business tycoon.

Somchai Phagaphasvivat, professor of politics at Thammasat University, said: "With such pressure on the part of the people, the government needs to do something to calm things down and not be seen as just part of a pro-Thaksin conspiracy, even if deep down I really don't think they want Thaksin to come back. I think this could create a certain tension between Thailand and the UK, at least in the short term."

Officials said last week they were starting the extradition process after the Supreme Court issued warrants for the couple's arrest when they skipped bail.

Mr Thaksin was ousted in 2006 by the military, which then launched corruption investigations. Following the country's return to democracy and the election victory of Samak Sundaravej, he came back from the UK in February to face charges.

In spite of the change in government, an emboldened judiciary has since been showing its determination to press on with the cases against Mr Thaksin and his family. The judiciary is also involved in more direct confrontations with the government, which have led to the resignation of some ministers and threaten the dissolution of the pro-Thaksin People Power's party.

Singapore blasted for Thaksin visit <table style="display: inline;" align="right" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <tbody><tr> <td style="height: 14px;" align="right" valign="top" width="100%"> <table imagetabletakecare="" border="0" bordercolor="#c0c0c0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="0%"> <tbody><!-- TOKEN --> <tr> <td>

</td> </tr> </tbody></table>
A private meeting between Thaksin Shinawatra, the ousted Thai prime minister, and a Singapore deputy prime minister has triggered angry reactions from Thailand’s military government, which rescinded an invitation to Singapore’s foreign minister.

Bangkok also suspended a nine-year-old exchange programme for civil servants set for late January.
The government summoned Peter Chan, Singapore’s ambassador, on Tuesday to find out why Thaksin, ousted in a September coup, was granted a meeting with S Jayakumar on a recent visit.

Coup leaders say the trip, like many Thaksin has taken around Asia in recent months, was politically motivated.
Reports of a meeting with Wong Kan Seng, Singapore’s other deputy prime minister, have not been confirmed.

Surayud Chulanont, Thailand’s caretaker prime minister, said on Tuesday: "We informed the Singaporean [ambassador] that we are concerned by the political movements made by Thaksin.

"Singapore should be more cautious about allowing such movements since we have already revoked Thaksin's diplomatic passport."

Kitti Wasinondh, a foreign ministry spokesman, said: "The Royal Thai government was dissatisfied with the incident and the explanation."

Singapore's foreign ministry said Chan had "explained that the Singapore government regarded this as a private visit''.

In a statement issued on Sunday, it had described Jayakumar as an "old friend'' of Thaksin's and said their meeting was "purely social and private".

Since being unseated, Thaksin has made high-profile trips to China, Hong Kong and Indonesia.

The Thai government has said that he was behind the New Year's Eve bombs in Bangkok that killed three people with the intention of undermining confidence in the government.

But Thaksin, who said last week that he was giving up politics, denies he is trying to make a political comeback.

On Monday night, Thaksin appeared on CNN but the interview was blacked out by Thailand's satellite channel operator, UBC.

Colleagues in court

Meanwhile on Tuesday, members of Thaksin's former Thai Rak Thai party were in court to fight allegations of electoral fraud.

The party is accused of bankrolling token opponents to stand in last year's April election, after their main opposition - the Democrats - boycotted and in effect nullified the results.

Hundreds of Thai Rak Thai MPs, including Thaksin, have resigned from the party, hoping to escape penalties, including being banned from political activity for up to five years.

But critics are sceptical about the motives and legitimacy of the tribunal set up after the coup.

They say the military has torn up the country's constitution, and there is a growing disillusionment over the coup leaders' promise of elections in October and worry that the military wants to hold on to power.

On the economic front, retailers and restaurant owners say business is slow and investors are smarting from new foreign ownership restrictions.

Thaksin said the post-coup administration, which introduced capital controls in December to stem a rise in the baht and then tightened up foreign investment laws, was taking the country down the road to economic isolation.

This greedy bastard was a big bully thug before he was ousted.

Please remember that billions of Singaporean tax dollars are in his assets now, including the Manchester football team.

Thai politics is full of wayang and BS. The 'Bangkok class' can press all it wants to "get" Thaksin but if you check with the rural class, who btw are in the majority, they still appear to support Thaksin. Why? Because when Thaksin was in power, Thaksin enacted policies which actually empowered them and helped them to some extent at least, like the cheap village loans and 30bht medical fees. The Thai elites and middle class (Bangkok class) have never given a shit about the rural poor majority. Thaksin did albeit for his own gains as well. In any event, I gather from latest press reports that the Thai government is still allowing Thaksin to keep his red diplomatic passport and shall not be requesting for his extradition from UK. Thaksin is clearly a divisive force in Thailand. If the Thais want political stability and to get back to economic growth then I think it is best that Thaksin stay out of Thailand indefinitely.

despite the unrest n haggling at present, many versions of soothe-sayings claim that the reigns of power will eventually return to the ousted premiere. i'm still waiting to see if all that is true.

:p Temasek spent lots of our tax payers' dollars in Bangkok to minimize damages from Thug-Sin saga, and have yet recovered half way from their burning pains still.

Both in Bangkok & Jarkata Temasek still face the squeeze of law and bleeding tax dollars as well as pains in their ass. Lots of related corruption scandals are still at risk to be exposed.

Therefore I am still awaiting for LEEgime to invite Thug-Sin over to eat famous Bak Kut Teh, and see if this will add more salt to their bleeding ass or not.

He can not afford lots of things, but these day he is dumb enough to still do many of those. E.g. his big mouth golden period talks, while in serious inflation and recession. He is working hard for the Singaporean oppositions & reformist by shooting his own foot every now and then. He is doing an excellent job to finish off his own LEEgime, best part is there is NO ONE within LEEgime that can stop him!

PAp boot-lickers used to call LKy the satellite vision, we now proved that his satellite (Shin Corp's & Jakatar's) are stuffed inside his asshole as well as big mouth. Therefore the satellite vision is so blinded and so screwed up.
