Two men to appear in court for errant driving

SINGAPORE - Two men will appear in court on Sept 3 on charges of dangerous driving and and taking part in an unauthorised speed trial.
The pair, aged 25 and 26, were caught in a joint operation earlier this year by the Traffic Police and Land Transport Authority over New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
They were arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving at an illegal racing hot spot along Seletar Link. Investigations revealed that one of the men had been driving at a speed of more than 140km/h.
The speed limit along Seletar Link is 60km/h.
If convicted of dangerous driving, they each face fines of up to $3,000 or a prison term of up to 12 months, or both. They each face jail of up to six months and fines of up to $2,000 should they be convicted of taking part in an unauthorised speed trial. Vehicles involved in the offence may also be confiscated.
