this is Lee Hsien Loong and Dr Chee Soon Juan situation:

Then:
Lee Hsien Loong lived happily and fighting in the GE with the company by his lovely wife Dr Wong Ming Yang, His mama Kwa Geok Choo and his papa Lee Kuan Yew.

Now:
Slowly, his love ones die one by one. His children grow up and remains single.

Now Lee Hsien Loong is an old man with 2 cancers and his loved one all died except his second wife Ho Ching.

his party is getting stronger with additional persona such as Dr Paul Thambyah, Wong Souk Yee.

His children were grown up and his daughter just received Ivy league scholarship (her own effort, not Singapore scholarship)

I think it's a good analogy. Although would be better to just stick to wine.

Good wine ages well. Obtaining body and flavours, becoming more robust. Hence very valuable and desirable.

Cheap wine becomes rancid, brownish, flat and dull. Taste like cheap and lousy Sherry. Pour it down the sink.
