You are right that pap will slip and the cause is not clear. This is because the issues are many. However, it can be grouped into a single category - insincere and twisting with words.
Don't say aged collect cardboard because they wish to exercise if the the majority do it out of need.
Don't say there are lots of job opportunity if the vacancies are for cleaners and security guards.
Don't say $1000 monthly can afford to buy a flat and support a family if it can't even support a single person.
Don't say a heart operation cost $8 if majority can't afford that kind of insurance premium

Just health care issue alone, implementing the Medishield life is not taking care of health care issue. You should really watch the NUSS Political Dialogue discussion chaired by Vishaw. The opposition candidates from every party explained their visions/plans including the AHPETC issue and dealt with impromptu Q&A from the floor. Unlike LHL interviews, the difficult questions were not prepared ahead.
The PAP female MP panellist Sim An kena arrowed to go was literally a "Flower vase" case, talk without really dealing with the issues. None of the PAP big guns dared to show up to risk answering difficult questions.
The PAP MP Sim An was really slaughtered! It really looked bleak for PAP there.
An non PAP coalition is not entirely impossible as it only takes 45 seats to knock out PAP to opposition benches. Any coalition with a reduced PAP majority is impossible as the PAP regards every NON PAP party an ENEMY that must be FIXED! Didn't LHL himself say he has to spend time FIXING opposition and buying votes (throwing meat at voters?)

PAP will not fall and only crazies will think such things...at most the oppo can hope to win is another GRC and a few more SMCs,,Singkies will only vote for a strong oppo party like WP,,,and seriously,,who in their right mind will vote for the 3rd rate oppos? SDA, NSP, RP and Got More shit party have no political appeal. DPP, SFP have more credibility and I will call them 2nd tier oppos,,but they are contesting in real PAP strongholds,,,so hard to win. Respecting LKY for his contribution to the country is not the same as supporting the pappies to do what they are now doing. So, don't think all these people turning up to pay respect to LKY will surely vote for pappies.
WP knew LHL would be singing the same song in every NDR. Why not spend the time getting close to the residents in their ward? Not attending the NDR is a good move to distance themselves from the usual cock talk of the PM.
