In a humourous response to Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong’s scathing attacks about the Workers’ Party, Workers’ Party candidate for Marine Parade GRC said that residents living in different parts of the GRC also feel like nomads because of the ruling party’s gerrymandering antic:

“I am not sure when contesting in an election in a country that is based on democratic principles is being arrogant. It is for voters to decide and it is our duty to provide a choice for them, as best as we can.

As to “nomads”, I recall the many visits to different parts of Marine Parade GRC, such as Eunos, Joo Chiat, Kembangan, Chai Chee, Ubi and Braddell. Some residents recall how they were in a different GRC (some even in now-defunct GRCs) or were a SMC previously. I think some even described themselves as nomads, moving constituencies without moving their actual house.

Old habits die hard. Woody Goh had always been quick to shoot his mouth, at least LKY had more finesse and Machiavellian instinct.

Opposition must come up with some "shock and awe" statement to kill off GCT. Like dismantling the causeway and replacing it with a bridge. and giving good reasons for it. part of it is environment and access for local shipping to use the causeway unhindered. good for local marine industries and marina developers also.

Plus a high speed rail and highway to jakarta with a bridge to karimun and onwards. Singapore already the unofficial financial centre of indonesia. might as well implant that status officially.

I am sure Lao Goh, being a smart person, wanted to retire now to enjoy his Swiss Standard of living.

KNN this PM wanted him to work.

So Lao Goh is creating so much unhappiness against PAP, especially his team, that PAP overall will get less votes, and his team gets kicked out by WP.

Best of all worlds as Lao Goh can quit to other country to live and no one will remember what he did, yet continue to get his 2/3 pension every month. SWISS STANDARD, really!
