SINGAPORE - The re-employment age will be raised from 65 to 67, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong announced in the National Day Rally on Sunday.

This is the best part of the Rally speech.... it resonates with many of us. There is the single defining moment in history when we are truly one people, one nation and one Singapore regardless of race, language and religion.
Immigration is a big issue and a very sensitive issue.
No easy choices. Every option is not easy. We do need foreign workers - construction workers and domestic maids.
We cannot import too many of them. We have to find a balance. But there is a cost to every thing.
It will involve some pain and some cost.
But the government will continue to act on the behalf of the people. we will not allow our own people to suffer.
