If Ng Chee Meng is sincere, he should run in Aljunied

The Chief Of Defence Force, Ng Chee Meng has finally admitted that he will be joining politics although everyone and their grandmothers already knew that he’d be doing just that, the moment he announced his resignation from the army.

And although he has not explicitly stated where he’d be going, everyone’s grandmothers and their husbands already knew. He’d be joining the PAP.

During his announcement, he also mentioned about feeling indebted to Singapore and that it was his call of duty. Commendable indeed.

In the context of PAP’s current campaign to save the residents of Aljuneid from the evil clutches of the Workers’ Party, and in the light of the General’s noble intentions, it would be most appropriate if he were to stand in Aljuneid GRC.

If you were indebted to Singapore, and if you truly believed that it was your call of duty to serve Singapore, then come and save the Aljuneid residents.

He could then bravely lead a PAP team in the GRC that is now without a leader as apparently all the PAP Ministers are scared busy with their own constituencies.

It would be a gamble of course. But the reward would far exceed the risk.

He could show Singaporeans what he is truly made off. A red-blooded general, brave and articulate who could plan and command a political battle like no other. Unlike the other General who is now in Marine Parade GRC needing to ride on the coat-tail of a former Premier.

And should he win, General Ng Chee Meng would be respected and no one could accuse him of being a political parachutist.

Should he lose, there will always a post waiting for him somewhere in the GLCs or government departments.

So what say you, Lieutenant-general Ng Chee Meng?

Generally speaking, past "generals" have never really dare to stand on their own two feet
when it comes to erections. In this case, will they parachute an air force pilot in too,
like some Nan Fang general who kee chiu to volunteer?

It is saddening to note such men of such high caliber do not live the lives they choose.

Instead they are dictated by others to fulfill their master selfish agenda. It is clear that this Ng chee Meng is issued with an order to move to PAP.. Like all uniformed personnel, they are professionally trained to take orders. That"s where the puppet master will be able to get a hold on them.

For these good young men, they must search their conscience that their future role must be one that will do greater good for the Nation.

Their first duty is duty to the Nation and not to be blinded by power and greed .

PAP wont risk putting him to Aljunied....

Apparently he "owes a great debt to Singapore" and so he wants very much to get into parliament and possibly become a member of the cabinet to "repay that debt", so errrr, no, he won't be running in Aljunied.

...how else to get into Parliament except be a tail coat rider? If he got quality, he ought to have stood in an SMC to get elected. Going into Parliament via back door is a disgrace.

Was he asked to FO or did he want to leave on his own volition? Politics is a wayang...what you see and hear is not the real deal. Why would he want to leave behind a kind of salary that many would wish for?

To be the pappies' porlumpar in the grass loot is the first hurdle to becoming rich. This is why many foreigners would gladly join the pappies' grass loot. To get licence to become king of the road? Ask John Duncan Tasker. He got it to hantam another motorist.

Next step is to rub shoulders with incumbent MP to get recommendation to become pappies' candidate for election. Ask Joan Pereira. She got it. If elected, she would be the next batch of new pappies' MP.

Final journey. If got chance to become junior Minister, the door to cabinet is wide open to become full Minister.
Voila, this is the dream of every foreigner in sinapor.

he should contest in a SMC, as should CCS.

One need courage to run in AJ GRC. Greed also played a part in choosing the easy way into parliament using sweet GRC back doors. For expert advice, ask Chan Chun Seng. Even that son-of-Punggol is now enlightened.

He will not be deployed to Aljunied GRC, that is for sure. Likely to go to an GRC where oppie party is weak like the NSP which makes a lot of noise but no power to kick out pappies.

Even he has two balls cast in concrete, he will not go to Aljunied. The size of the crowd at the WP rally in GE2011 scared even a veteran politician like G Yeo.

Tolong lah, don't talk like a school boy. How can LTK and SL just up and leave Aljunied GRC to show they not afraid LHL in AMK? It should be LHL coming over to Aljunied GRC to take them down.
