May get some perks from time to time, but actually is paid by the contributions.

Not sure about MBS but at RWS, you earn on average 1 point for every $200 played (some machines are a little less, some a little more depending on payback/volatility of machine). For both casinos, these points earned are how they keep track of your play over the year and see whether you remain same tier or get upgraded. For lowest tier member, every point we earn, we get 1 (genting or sands) dollar worth to spend either at RWS or MBS respectively. Higher tier, for every point earned, they give you more genting or sands dollars e.g. Gold at RWS if you earn 1 point you get 1.5 Genting dollars for every 1 point clocked on the machine, Maxims Gold you get 1.65 Genting dollars.

every month, Sands sent us free room through sms..
(my wife had 2 free night..whilst, i had 1 night..and my sister had 1 night free also)
we booked the free room before we left for Macau..from sands
(we had 2rooms X 2 nights free only but we need 3 rooms X 3 nights -- haha..!)
(..my wife plays more and spent more than me, so she get 1 extra night free)
anyway, if you are new card holder ?,
you just need to play 25 pts per day.(or 30 pts if weekdays / old timer)
We stay at Holiday Inn Sands (cotai) which is Not bad (4 stars?) lah !
your complimentary free stay must lapse 24 hrs..so (take note!..)
cannot continuous free room..(so must lapse 1 day..)
that means..you may need another kaki to book for you (alternate days)
On our last trip...we needed 3 rooms X 3 nights..(we had 6 persons altogether )..
and we need a room on the first night (2 room free from us only- booked in Singapore)

the last trip..

Hotel rooms pay by cash, stayed Venetian, Wynns, Hard Rock etc, around $300+/night, as I choose the less expensive dates to go.
Cheapest is hotel Royal around $120/night, nice decent hotel and walking distance to Senado Square for some shopping, no inhouse casino though, but slots are available.
Will consider signing up for some next trip.

you can consider fly by Cathay Pacific (about $260 ) to HK international airport..
from there take the ferry direct to Macau..(another $45 -1 way)
(better than budget flights as got makan and entertainment..time past faster on board also)
i think...if fly direct to macau..from here..more expensive and very early time departure ?
must sign up for membership cards from different casinos..lah..(at least get free gift and makan voucher)

I normally will skip airline food, the few hours flight can be quite boring without entertainment, so just sleep!
