The National Environment Agency (NEA) will be taking enforcement action against Casuarina Curry Restaurant after a Stomper sent in a report of getting severely bitten by bugs after dining there.

Stomper Kaixin said she was dining at the restaurant on Saturday (Jul 25) when the back of her calves felt extremely irritated and itchy.

According to her, angry red spots were forming on her legs -- on the parts that were in contact with the seat.

In an official response by Mr Tony Teo, director of the Environmental Public Health Operations at NEA, the restaurant premises was inspected immediately.

The statement in full read:

"We refer to the STOMP article, “Woman severely bitten by bugs after dining at restaurant” on 30 July 2015.

"The National Environment Agency (NEA) takes a serious view of foodshop operators who fail to keep their premises free of pest infestation, which may then compromise food hygiene and safety.

"We received two feedback concerning bug-infested chairs at Casuarina Curry Restaurant recently and inspected the premises on 20 July and 30 July.

"We are unable to determine what had bitten the customers, although we detected some cockroaches in the crevices of some of the chairs.

"NEA has required the licensee to remove and replace all the affected chairs with new chairs. We have also advised the licensee to engage a pest control operator to rectify the cockroach infestation immediately, and required that their pest control reports be submitted to NEA.

"NEA will be taking enforcement action against Casuarina Curry Restaurant. Under the Environment Public Health (Food Hygiene) Regulations, licensees who fail to keep their premises free of pest infestation can be fined up to $2,000. On conviction, they will also be issued with six demerit points.

"This year (as at 30 June 2015), NEA has conducted more than 75,000 inspections on food premises and taken more than 290 enforcement actions against errant food operators who failed to keep their premises free of pest infestation.

"Operators of food establishments have a duty to ensure their premises are clean and free from pests by putting in place a good cleaning regime and an effective pest control programme.

"NEA takes such lapses seriously and will not hesitate to take errant operators to task. Members of public are advised to report such incidents by calling our 24-hour NEA Contact Centre at 1800-CALL-NEA (1800-2255-632)."

FT brought in these pests. SG was for very long time free of such problems, until PAP mass introduced FTS.

The picture shown is a classic immediate skin reaction caused by bed bugs biting. Wherever there are shit skin indians, there will be bed bugs. Thats why shit skin indians are also known as shit skin bed bugs. Just two month ago, same thing happened at Rex Cinema. Guess the race who patronise Rex Cinema? Article below:

Don't let the bedbugs bite - at the cinema

Moviegoers claim they have been leaving the Rex Cinema with more than just shivers down their spine - after finding themselves covered in bedbugs.

The Bollywood theatre in Mackenzie Road has admitted to The Straits Times that it has a problem with the bugs - and pest controllers say it may not be the only cinema here to have them.

A group who watched a film at Rex on May 31 told of how they began feeling uncomfortable during the two-hour screening.

Hairstylist Srirutiran Mathivanan, 29, said that his friend's wife began complaining she was "itchy".

When Mr Mathivanan turned on his mobile phone's flashlight, he noticed her hand was swollen - but that was not all.

"I saw many bedbugs at her feet and when I peeled the seat cushion back to look, even more came out," said Mr Mathivanan, who added that he had previously been bitten at the cinema.

His friend Narasinga Rao Vandasan, 26, felt that the incident was "no small matter".

"I sometimes see children going to the cinema. What if they get bitten? Cinemagoers don't want to spread this to their friends and family."

Mr Vandasan said the cinema's management had previously told him that it would clean up the place, but the situation has not improved.
