Singapore is quite easy to govern compared to other bigger countries with their own problems (e.g. agriculture and natural disasters), but the pappies, in their arrogance and conceited self-importance, portray themselves as indispensable to running the country. They have to turn up the sales pitch of selling themselves, because they have to be perceived as being entirely worthy of their super salaries.

The only complexities are man-made and artificial, and mostly just scaremongering. Nothing different from preaching hellfire to a bunch of unbelievers.

Bro, I am not saying there weren't any problems, but if they did occur in Singapore, they were very small compared with what has happened elsewhere in the world. Yes, there were some incidents in the past, but they were little skirmishes which didn't last long. Compare with the schisms between Hindus and Muslims when India and Pakistan were established, what happened in 1960 was child's play. How about the Hutus and Tutsis in Africa? And other tribal wars in that continent? The ST has a habit of making a mountain out of a molehill whenever there is something to report. An example was the motorcycle racing in Orchard Road in the 70s - a couple of youths get together and ride spiritedly on Saturday nights, and the press labels them as Hell Riders!!! The truth is these "boys" were puppy dogs compared to real motorcycle gangs in the west who are on the verge of being psychos! Really, by world standards, Singapore is a kindergarten when it comes to social issues. The recent "riots" in Little India, I wouldn't even use the word riot, as no one was hurt or injured by rioters, just happen there isn't any other word to describe it. Having said this, there is nothing wrong with being in a orderly and law-abiding society, actually, it is nice. But I wouldn't attribute this state of affairs to the government, it is the citizens who ought to be thanked and appreciated for this.

MIW creates all sorts of problems. Then kpkb when they try to tame the very problems they gave birth to. That way of course it is complicated to govern.

Spore is only about 715 square km. Yet there are 27 constituencies, 98 members of Parliament. Further complicating matters are money grabbing fucked up schemes like the COE, ERP, PARF, various govt schemes in health insurance, DBSS, BTO, etc.

It is not complicated to govern this little country. It is the people governing it that have made it complicated.
