http://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/singfirst-says-election/2022330.html

Opposition party Singaporeans First (SingFirst) said on Saturday (Aug 1) it has identified a slate of candidates to contest Tanjong Pagar GRC in the next election, but stopped short of naming them.

Party chief Tan Jee Say said that they range from 30 to 60 years of age. He added that some of them were with him and his team of volunteers at Tiong Bahru on Saturday for their walkabouts in the five-member constituency.

"We have a diversified and balanced slate of candidates, of various ages and various backgrounds," Mr Tan said. He did not name the candidates, citing it as part of his party's strategy.

The Tanjong Pagar constituency, currently helmed by the People's Action Party, has been uncontested since it became a multi-seat GRC in 1991.

"For nearly 27 years since 1988, the voters of Tanjong Pagar have not had the opportunity to vote for their members of parliament, to represent their interests. So we're coming in to give them this opportunity to elect their own Members of Parliament,” said Mr Tan.

Sad to say most younger generation do not know manners and respect. With reference to the photo, there must be something wrong with a grown man who wears a hat front to back.

He wears front-to-back while eating so that he can see his food more clearly. When out in the sun, it's back to back-to-front. :p

I don't see why the PAP fanboys are so upset about this. If anything, this will be a great baptism of fire for Kee Chiu. If he can't even handle this, how will he become the next PM?

Tanjong Pagar GRC residents have been having a walkover for so long, it is about time for them to vote. That area also has a lot of old folks, some of them may be dead before the next election in 2020. Have a heart and let them have their chance.

It will still be an uphill task for SingFirst to win the TP GRC. The main reason is the LKY still looms large in the minds of the folks there.

No matter how good the Opps are at singing the song " We are the World" , one clip of the week long mourning for the late MP and first PM of Singapore will be enough to evoke the wave of empathy for the man and his party.

We'll always miss him.

No oppo party has taken a GRC on its first attempt. If the first attempt can get at least 44%, it will set the foundation for winning on the 2nd attempt. That means it will take any oppo party at least 2 attempts to win a GRC. Aljunied was won at the 3rd attempt. The only party that can win a GRC this GE is WP, maybe NSP can take Marine Parade if NSP can send a very strong team.

.....maybe NSP can take Marine Parade if NSP can send a very strong team.

On hindsight, it is interesting to note that :

1. Gms was in charge of nsp in 2011

2 NS and Tpl were contrasting young candidates and "happened" to be fighting in same grc.

3. NS was not taken to task after she had delivered the most damaging rally speech when she apologized on behalf of Lky to the Malays.

4. NS eventually left politics and changed to become supportive of pap

Some questions of interest :

1. Why was tpl's video and Kate spade photo not removed before the announcement of her canidacy? After all, it is their SOP. Furthermore, tang pin hui, even made joke of it by taking photo in the same pose. Is he instructed to further damage Tpl's image?

2. Why was NS let off, which implies that her apology is valid.

I wondered, is the battle at MP in 2011 in-fighting. To show lau Goh that he can be destroyed with ease. His popularity is only skin deep and had been overshadowed by introducing 2 silly girls into the fight.
