20 years' jail, caning for underage sex

A SECURITY officer was jailed yesterday for 20½ years and ordered to receive the maximum 24 strokes of the cane for committing sexual offences on four underage girls during a two-month period.
They included a pair of twins.
His victims were between 11 and 13 years old.
Benjamin Sim Wei Liang, now 30, pleaded guilty to three counts of sexually penetrating a minor, two counts of statutory rape and one count each of performing an obscene act on a child between November 2012 and January 2013.
He was also convicted of making one of his victims take naked pictures of herself to send to his mobile phone.
Fifteen other charges for similar offences were taken into consideration during sentencing.
Sim committed most of the offences at public places, including in disabled-friendly toilets and moving taxis.
