Certainly a rare breed and a far cry from the submissive, compliant muslim girls we see around. To effect change in the muslim community though will take much more that a person voicing out humanitarian values, her voice will not be heard in their community. Muslim society is biased against females, and the males do not see anything wrong with their thinking! Reform is needed, but it does not seem to be desired. It will take a prominent muslim personality to kickstart any changes, and from the looks of societies the world over, that isn't likely to happen.
