Why don't they throw some powder around their police station and see whether it blows up or not? Morons

SINGAPORE: The Singapore Police Force (SPF) and Singapore Civil Defence (SCDF) will assess the safety of using coloured powder before granting approval for an upcoming Color Run event.

This follows an incident over the weekend, where a dust explosion involving coloured cornstarch injured hundreds of partygoers at a Taiwan water park. One person died in the disaster, and a Singaporean was among those who suffered burns.

“The Singapore Police Force has received applications for the Color Run event. The SPF and SCDF are studying the Taiwan fire incident and working with the event organiser on the use of coloured powder at the event,” the agencies said in a joint statement on Tuesday (Jun 30). “We will assess all safety aspects associated with the use of coloured powder, before granting any approval for the Color Run or other similar events.”

The Color Run is due to take place on the weekend of Aug 22 and 23 in Singapore. Organiser IMG Worldwide said on Monday that the powder it uses in the event has been tested for flammability and "successfully passed the required EU standards". It also said it has no association with the equipment or organisers in the Taiwan incident.
