I remember between 70s-80s there were 2 separate incident during which a police officer was shot dead by his own pistol when the assailant snatched it from him. This is definitely not the first time such 'mishap' has happened.
That is why I think our police should be unarmed, they get more casualties among themselves rather than the bad guy.
There is no need for their Taurus .38 to be fully loaded with ammo at all times so as to prevent their guns being snatched away and used against themselves. In any tensed life threatening situation, there would still be time to take cover, use the Taurus .38 ammo loader to load 6 rounds quickly to fire.

You idiot! The centre mini-trigger is not a real safety feature. A person who pulls the trigger will automatically fire off a Glock since the mini-trigger embedded with the main trigger will be pressed down.
We have enough of such misfires in the SAF. That's why the safety on the rifle is a button that ensures no firing takes place even when the trigger is pulled.
You bloody twit, you need a certain amount of trigger pull to even disengage the safety on the trigger. Go play with an Airsoft replica if you can't handle firearms

that's the pin block. when one cocks the pin first in a dual-action sequence, the pin block gets into position to prevent the firing pin from hitting the round. this is to prevent accidental discharge from dropping the revolver or cocking of the pin by another person. however, a complete pull of the trigger in either a dual-action sequence or single-action mode will lift the block and discharge the round.
there are taurus .38 special revolvers that allow a safety key to be inserted in the rear to "lock" the revolver (including disabling of the trigger) with a quarter-turn of the key. this helps in preventing kids or gun novices from accidentally discharging loaded guns at home.

Muhammad Iskandar Sa'at, had allegedly tried to escape from the hospital. In the struggle that ensued, three shots were fired and the 31-year-old policeman was wounded in his left thumb and right foot.
Under Section 4 (1) of the Arms Offences Act, any person who is convicted of using or attempting to use any firearm can face the death penalty.
Muhammad was arrested last Friday - a day before the shooting - and was under remand for further investigation.
