After 26 years of screen fighting, Donnie Yen, 46, is finally being recognized as the world’s number one Chinese action star, inheriting the mantle previously carried by Jet Li, Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee. Bolstered by award-winning, blockbuster hits IP MAN and PAINTED SKIN in 2008 and with upcoming films 14 BLADES, BODYGUARDS AND ASSASSINS and IP MAN 2 gaining momentum, the Boston native has become the hottest fighting star in Asia with offers pouring in from producers. Despite this enviable position, Yen admits that his time as an action star is running out in a new interview with the New York Times.
With age, it’s taking Yen longer to recuperate from shooting action scenes and although not mentioned in the NYT article, the action star has been troubled of late by injuries.
“I’ve actually given myself a retiring deadline for acting of 50,” said Yen. “I want to push myself to the limit, but I don’t want to be hanging around.”

Contrary to popular belief Jackie also hardly knows martial arts he is trained in Beijing opera and routines machiam like a circus act.
Donnie is an accomplished pugilist trained in various martial arts and taken part and won numerous competitions.
Jackie is also uglier, only jumps around doing slapstick and acting like the clown that he is. Uncouth chinaman compared to ABC Donnie

Kung Fu Jungle and Special ID are Donnie Yen's two most recent movies. Wang BaoQiang and Andy On are both excellent actors with genuine martial art skills (nowhere as experienced as Donnie Yen, but on the flipside they've the advantage of youth), but due to the difference in emphasis of the choreography styles, ie. traditional Chinese martial arts for Kung Fu Jungle, versus MMA (particularly BJJ) for Special ID, anyone who understands genuine martial arts will appreciate that Donnie Yen's Special ID final fight scene is incomparably superior to Donnie Yen's Kung Fu Jungle final fight scene. Special ID fight scenes are mostly realistic, practical and applicable to real-life, while Kung Fu Jungle's fight scenes are mostly unrealistic, impractical and belongs within a movie.

I have watched Donnie's Wing Chun ( the 1st one) many times on Blu-Ray, the moves were slick & well choreographed, but it is still a galaxy difference with Bruce Lee....never mind the slapstick Kung Fu of Jackie Chan.
You heard of Alexander Fu Sheng? he was to be acting in that movie that Jacky Chan, got a break to be a star, he would have been in Jacky Cahn Shoes had he, not died in a car accident.

Very rare people did having it, is usually after they have finished....it is the sudden spike & the cooling down the culprit....my doctor tells me, many people die between 2am - 4am...for the older you get, when you get roused from you sleep...your heart, has to start pumping after a rest...the older you are , the more, 'clogged pipes' one have...
