Half-Mast Flags on declared Day of National Remembrance (June 8)

Monday (June 8) has been declared a Day of National Remembrance, says the Prime Minister's Office in a statement issued today.

Monday, 8 June 2015 will be a Day of National Remembrance. State flags on all Government buildings will be flown at half-mast. One minute of silence will be observed at the beginning of the day at all SEA Games venues.

Re: Why MOE ?

In singapore, everything is about KPI,there's no more fun being in school.Start from the top,we have very bad example of the KPI (GDP) linked to the ministers' salaries and bonuses.First, they climb Bt.Timak hill, then they climbed Mt.Kanabalu, next they will conquer Mt.Everest...the KPI (bar) keep going higher and higher.
They will sadistically stretch u and stress u until u drop dead.
No wonder Singaporeans are one of the most unhappy people in the world.

It's also the fault of the parents--12 year old can climb? Fault of teachers--what hell were they thinking? Fault of all MOE and above.

You mean MOE doesn't regulate the activities organised from the relevance and safety aspects?

hahaha....as expected the vultures going on feeding frenzy try to extract maximum mileage from this unfortunate episode....
this was clearly an act of god......period.
over the years thousands of pple of all ages have went on such expeditions without making the news..
these empty vessels under the guise of anti-papee really do not have a brain....
more pple died on the roads each year and going by their logics......they should do well to stay at home and not venture out of their home....
as the chances of getting killed on the roads are much higher.......truely retarded.

why no PAP ministers and MP's sons and daughters died in Kota Kinabalu?
why the students who died are commoners?
WHY PAP is pushing our own children so hard?

Source: All Singapore Stuff (ASS)

So don't make it sound like the trip was suitable for 12 year olds.

The school had been conducting this annual trip to Kota Kinabalu for years. This is the first time they had fatalities, and it was due to the unexpected earthquake, not from mountaineering accidents caused by human negligence, fatigue or injury.

Next year, go again! If not, how to train new generation of student leaders?

My son and daughter tell me that every government school in Singapore, elite or neighbourhood, all have their own student leaders training program. And the schools use these sort of programs to attract parents to enroll their kids into their schools. Teachers and school leaders also depend on these sort of programs for their promotion because the teachers cannot depend on their teaching skills to get promoted. MOE's KPI for teacher promotion depends a lot more on these sort of programs.

it is easy to have youth leaders training programme.
we can train our future leaders by debating with our current PAP leaders.
don't need to go to climb mountain.
PAP leaders dare not to even have debate with amos yee.
what leadership? suck my clits
