The Chinese understood well and is applying the art mastered over the century.

It is good to see more upmarket retail in JB. On the other hand, shoppers will have to be cautious of being trailed when they step out of the shops. Market forces will decide whether the high-end retail can sustain in JB.

They are a listed company and is answerable to all the share holders and they need to make their books look good.
They owns the islands and they can develop the island at any pace they want but ultimately, they will want to recover their money as quickly as possible.
As you can see, the island were just reclaimed last year and they cannot wait for natural settlement which takes at least 15 to 20 years but is rushing to build over it

Alarm bells should ring on the safety of such a project, cracked grounds and sinking properties would be a key feature.

Agree.. I saw that the main building has split with the external ground level..
Exposing about 10 cm of the base structural, the last time I was there..
If this is not the ground settling then I dunno what is.. But perhaps they are using the sea bed as the foundation.. So that might help.

If it was low rise sprawling island resort development, I'd probably booked and enjoy future retirement on these islands looking at fair syts by the man made beaches... but nooooo... you're talking about building 30-40-50stys high rise condos, packed into a small area, on "land" that will be less than say 5 years old when they complete the first phases?

If this is not a big red flag concern, I don't know what else is. Maybe the technology by the Chinese is really really so advanced that these are sup sup sui for them but to me, I prefer my terra firma to be actual solid, God created land ... and the great irony is, there are plenty of this in Johor!

Next 10 years will be pretty interesting!

Can see how densely packed the residential units are. I wonder if there will be many people staying there when it is completed....on the reclaimed land.

I was speeding down Krangi Dam when I saw the gigantic development of Country Gardens at Danga Bay opp Singapore. Really looked so packed like Sardines. But I heard the amenties are above average

Some owners are not happy with the interior fittings. I was also told by indirect internal sources the foundation on which it is built is questionable. But I won't comment further as I didn't hear it directly myself.

I'd already warned about the high density of this development, the closeness between apartment blocks way before the piling works when it was first launched (see my previous posts).
Not only that, the development is actually built on the side of an extremely filthy river mouth instead of along the Straits as claimed, go goggle the map of JB.
But the apartment blocks are still under construction and not accessible yet, how would these owners "not happy with interior fittings"???

That's what happens when the authorities never put in enough diligent effort to think about the layout and planning. I think they don't bother. Just sell the land, as long as they get the money, the Chinese developer can do whatever they want. The closeness of the condos are not only too tight, they don't look nice when seen from afar.

I am just guessing there will be many vacant units when the whole project is completed.

I think they still have a showflat or something like that. So now and then, some of the owners went back to take a look. The last I heard there are some ugly exposed piping installed outside the wall.
