Do gahmen Hospitals deliberately OMIT important quality reassurance info to reduce subsidy costs (make patients pay more)???!!!.
According to MOH website ("Healthcare Made Affordable"): "You will get the same good quality medical care, no matter which ward class you choose."
Unfortunately, on all restructured hospital websites regarding ward charges that I have reviewed (Singapore General Hospital, Changi General Hospital, Khoo Teck Puat Hospital), none of them contain any such information to reassure C class patients that "You will get the same good quality medical care, no matter which ward class you choose.": and I can only surmise that the real reason behind this is that restructured (gahmen) hospitals want to induce/ seduce patients into choosing higher class wards so as to reduce gahmen funding support/ earn more $$$revenue for their bottom line.
The fact that restructured hospitals are so BLATANTLY ALLOWED to omit such important financial counseling information suggests that perhaps MOH is the sole perpetrator. Perhaps Singaporeans are getting so sick that healthcare costs are exploding, or second, that MOH is so short on funds that it now encourages hospitals to withhold important 'C'-class quality assurance information so that patients utilising higher class wards can be accordingly funded with less tax-payers $$$.
I can only surmise that MOH, in not ensuring that such IMPORTANT quality reassurance information wrt treatment quality equivalence in 'C' class as compared to 'A' class is readily available on restructured gahmen hospital websites, is doing many Singaporeans, especially the poor: a great disservice. Perhaps, MOH is also doing a very poor job of keeping Singaporeans physically/ mentally well.
Reference: Diabetes and consequent kidney dialysis demands shooting through the roof: 'A new dialysis patient every 5 hours in S'pore': [ST, 10May2015]: "Singaporeans are getting more obese and more are suffering from diabetes, the main cause of kidney failure when not kept in check. ... Food cannot be the centre of our existence, she [Prof Vathsala] said"

Some hospital ward class websites (everything about physical luxuries and payment methods, nothing mentioned about 'C'-class ward treatment quality reassurance).

"If the annual salary of the Minister of Information, Communication and Arts is only $500,000, it may pose some problems when he discuss policies with media CEOs who earn millions of dollars because they need not listen to the minister's ideas and proposals. Hence, a reasonable payout will help to maintain a bit of dignity."
