PAP Law Minister Shanmugam saw it fit to dispense some harsh words on the group of S'porean teens who assaulted some foreign workers.

According to him, on the sidelines of the 7th Meeting of Singapore Honorary Consuls-General at Shangri-La Hotel:

“To think that a young man who has benefited from the system can act with such cruelty, without compassion, without empathy and without any kind of consideration."

We agree the actions of the youths were uncalled for but then again, why did Shanmugam single this case out for special mention?

Where was he when the group of three foreigner hooligans bashed up 45-year-old cabbie Tay Gek Heng and two Samaritans who went to help, causing severe injuries to all of them?

Where was Shanmugam when the Police dragged the investigation, almost letting the hooligans off the hook, taking action only after public pressure on social media?

To think that a government that has benefited from the system can act with such cruelty, without compassion, without empathy and without any kind of consideration by incarcerating a 16-year old for voicing opinions that the government didn't like. The government treated Amos like an animal.

Teen who beat foreigners: AGC files notice of appeal

An 18-year-old who beat up smaller foreign workers to practise his martial arts skills and even taunted them, could yet face a longer sentence after the Attorney-General's Chambers (AGC) filed a notice of appeal yesterday.
On Monday, Daryl Lim Jun Liang was given a short detention order of 10 days by a district judge for attacking two foreign workers last year - acts which Law and Foreign Affairs Minister K. Shanmugam yesterday described as "completely unacceptable".

Speaking at the sidelines of an event by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr Shanmugam said: "(The foreign workers) have come here and are helping us build our infrastructure.
"Instead of being grateful to them, and recognising that they're doing a hard job... to help their families, we go and attack them, it's bullying of somebody who's vulnerable.
"It's sickening conduct, the kind of conduct that you would not approve if somebody did it to animals."
The minister also wrote about it on his Facebook page, adding: "I hope that people who think and behave like Daryl are a tiny minority."
Last year, Lim, together with two 15-year-old friends and another who is 18, had in separate incidents targeted a Chinese and an Indian worker, because they were smaller and deemed less likely to fight back.
Lim even mocked the victims by dancing in front of them.

Sinkees youths are so bloody fed up of the PAP that they are taking matters into their own hands.

Then we have this Shanmu who instead of addressing the issue of youth alienation, fires up his engine to defend foreigners.

The minister also wrote about it on his Facebook page, adding: "I hope that people who think and behave like Daryl are a tiny minority."

Fat hope ...unless the PAP start deportation of foreigners. Maybe this youth's father was affected by the PAP's embrace foreigner's policy.

The law minister is also the foreign minister, so naturally he wants to go the extra mile to appease and give assurance to his masters in foreign diplomacy. Can't have the foreign fugitives, I mean investors, run away from Sinkieland. :wink:

This Daryl better be careful when he bends over to pick up the soap while in prison. It's a heinous crime to beat up foreigners, especially those who do the hard work that sinkies are too proud to do. Without the foreigners, who would build our homes, be our nurses or maids?

Lots of sinkees want to go into nursing but can't because PAP deems that as low-skilled work and thus warrants the imports of Pinoys to fill those spots.

PAPpies like you better be careful. Sinkee youths will beat you up if you dare to identify yourself as PAP supporter.

There hundred of cases where Foreigners create havoc yet your Master turn a blind eye, why highlight tis case. Is he trying to cause further friction between FT and Local Sporeans? If so, we must make a police report against him and see if the Police will handcuff him and drag him to their Station.

hello! PAP are the main developer, main contractor and main labour suppliers under the guise of GLCs.

It is so glaring, that it is embarrassing.
It seems to be so unfashionable to speak up for SGs where our self-proclaimed servants are concerned.
