Background Story: ESME THE GUIDE DOG REJECTED ENTRY INTO NGEE ANN CITY ZARA
Dear TRS,
Last night I was sitting on the bench outside TAKA' Zara when i heard the commotion. I didn't hear the initial conversation between the security guard and the woman because i was on my hp and facing the Kate Spade store direction. But i heard the security guard shouting "you called me an animal! F*** you!" very loudly in reply to something the woman said. After that, the security guard called the police.
The woman proceeded to enter the store with her dog and another man (i think is the husband). They were inside talking for some time while the security guard remained outside. After some time, the husband came out to talk to the security guard but in an aggressive and threatening manner. He kept walking very near the security guard machiam want to fight while the security guard retreated backwards shouting very loudly. almost ended up in a fight if not for some guys stopping it.

After that, the police came and interviewed the parties involved, during which the husband and security guard shouted at each other again and had to be stopped by the police.
What i heard from other witnesses was that the security guard politely told the woman that no animals allowed in the store. But i think the woman was overly sensitive and called the security guard an animal instead. He was furious and challenged the woman to repeat what she said again, which triggered off the commotion.

Don't get why people think they are entitled to this and that because of their disability. Blind also need to respect others la.

I try to understand, why would a blind person, wants to go into fashion retail shop, where she can't see the light?? never mind, the clothing's etc..

Don't you think by now those fucktard shits should have got it in their head that guide dogs are allowed in those places  :oIo:

Indeed. Guide dogs are allowed. Security guard too garang. We are cumming up with a new sensitivity training course. Every sinkie security uncle has to pay 800 dollar to enrol and collect cert otherwise no job for you.

Security guard may be Muslim, anyway allowed or not allowed is for the shop to say and not for you to comment. Policies differ.

Establishments are required by law to allow guide dogs and other utility dogs into their premises.

I am the manager of that shop ZARA or any shop, I will guide this blind woman & her dog "ass me" in ,guide her round the store & guide her out & say, Thank you, please cum again...!! be polite, like the British, but be a bastard at the same time...that is what we call tact!.

I showed her in my shop & I politely shoo her out....

Guide dogs should also double-up as Attack Dogs. Situations like these, guard dog can be set upon the antagonist. Switch the Lab for a Rottweiler.

Cheers!

Special IC for blind people with guide dogs

By Derrick Ho, The Straits Times, 3 Dec 2012

BLIND people in Singapore who use a guide dog will soon be issued with a special identity card to smooth out access issues at malls or restaurants.

The card, administered by the Guide Dogs Association of the Blind (GDAB) and supported by the Ministry of Social and Family Development, will be issued to all handlers by the first quarter of next year.

This was announced by Dr Francis Seow Choen, chairman of the GDAB, yesterday at a reception for the third guide dog in Singapore and its handler Alvin Ng, 46.

"We hope that people will recognise and know that this is a guide dog and not refuse them entry," Dr Seow told The Straits Times on the sidelines of the event.

The card follows discussions lasting more than a year internally and with various ministries in Singapore, he said.

The front of the new identity card will carry photos of the blind handler and his or her guide dog.

A statement on the other side will provide an explanation on guide dogs and where they are legally allowed entry.

Currently, guide dog owners carry a stack of documents to prove their dog is not a pet.

Madam Ho Ching, chief executive officer of Temasek Holdings, who was guest of honour at the event, urged the public to be more accepting of guide dogs and their handlers.

"We have an opportunity to create an inclusive society and, through your help, whether... it's employment for the deaf or guide dogs for the blind, I do hope we each can play a part to make this a better world," she said.

There are currently only three guide dogs in Singapore, but Dr Seow said the association aims to bring in one dog each year.

Last week, a blind woman with her guide dog was told by staff at a Forever 21 clothing outlet that dogs were not allowed in the store.

Ms Cassandra Chiu, 33, recounted the incident in a post on Facebook, which went viral and prompted the American retailer to apologise.

Ms Chiu, a psychotherapist, is the second Singaporean trained to use a guide dog. Referring to the new identity card, she said: "I think this would help clear up a lot of the misconceptions and put a lot of authenticity behind it."
