97% will consider leaving for career development.
An overwhelming majority or 97% of Singaporean job seekers will consider leaving Singapore to advance their careers, a poll by recruiting firm Hays revealed.
The survey showed that 85% of respondents would leave for better job opportunities, career development or exposure, while 12% would leave for lifestyle factors. Just 3% would not consider leaving Singapore to work overseas.
“The opportunity to gain highly valued international experience is the number one factor driving local talent overseas,” said Christine Wright, Managing Director of Hays in Asia.
She noted that employers increasingly value local talent with international experience and an international mindset. Candidates with overseas experience are even more highly valued than expatriates since they combine their Westernised way of thinking and experience of how business is done overseas with local cultural understanding.
“With an increasing number of MNCs establishing or expanding their regional offices here, demand for local talent with global business experience and acumen will only continue to increase,” she said.

This is a market survey & is limited to questions related to work. However if they dig deeper, people are actually looking to upgrade from Spore. Just look at the number of people applying to emigrate. People are running away from the PAP way of life:rolleyes:

When you compare to the Hongkies, once they get an Australian, Canadian, US,.... passport, they return to HK to work. Ex-Sporeans who get new passports rarely return to Spore to work.

Think about it doesnt mean will do it.

Most seniors go angmo countries must start all over again at junior positions. There are so many talents in angmo lands too.

People can just move to another country. There is no need to go through a job just to move to another country.

If you emigrate at a younger age, you will get to enjoy more of the advantages e.g. cheaper Uni tuition for your children.
My friends emigrated because they wanted a quality of life you can't find in Spore. No reservist. Affordable car ownership, affordable homes,...

Actually you don't need to work so hard in places like Canada. You don't even need a University degree to get a decent paying job. There are many alternative vocation training places e.g. their polys.

I've worked with angmos & compared to Sporeans they are more easy going & laid back. So if a job requires long hours with little pay, you won't get much competition from them because they will avoid applying for those jobs:biggrin:

As a Canadian you have a choice of working anywhere in Canada e.g. Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton,.. and in the USA. Canada signed a Free Trade Agreement that allows Canadians to work there.

Bottom line. Many hard working Sporeans & foreign talent from PRC China, Philippines, India,... want to emigrate to a 1st world country. What you do when you get there is your business but you do get a fairer overall package than Spore.

Are these organic??? do you use natural compost?

no spraying, no pesticides, organic plant food (compost and my own ), ladybugs to take care of pests, water and sun, and they grow naturally.

Gosh. You gonna have plums oozing out from your ears middle of the year! Might wish to get bottles and learn how to preserve them, make jam, or something to spread out your harvest. BTW, where you live, any critters like bats, weasels who might invade your compound for the fruits?

Cheers!

This article is fishy. Is it a media spin to tell sinkie professionals to consider leaving the country because labour market is getting worse while real plum jobs here have been taken up by FTs?
