Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak will be one of the targets of investigations by a three-agency taskforce set up to probe 1Malaysia Development Bhd, Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar said.

Speaking to reporters, Khalid said the task force would comprise members of the police force, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and the Attorney-General’s Chambers.
Asked whether Prime Minister Najib would also be one targets of the investigations, Khalid replied:”Yes”.
However, Khalid declined to disclose further details.
He said the investigations would be carried out under Penal Code.
“If I am not mistaken, this will be under Section 409 and Section 420 (of the Penal Code), but I am subject to be corrected,” Khalid said.

Section 409 of the Penal Code refers to “Criminal breach of trust by public servant or agent”, while Section 420 is on “Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property”.

The state investment fund 1MDB, conceived by the Najib administration in 2008, has been under intense scrutiny for its business dealings of late.
Najib has ordered the auditor-general to vet 1MDB’s accounts and that the results of the probe be scrutinised by the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).
Last Saturday, Sarawak Report revealed that businessman Jho Low had used Najib’s name to circumvent the Bank Negara approval needed on a US$1 billion loan (RM3.69 billion) provided to 1MDB.
Police reports lodged
PAS vice-president Husam Musa lodged a police report today, under Section 405 of the Penal Code for criminal breach of trust, to urge an investigation into the 1MDB matters.

Husam said the authorities should investigate Najib as finance minister and chair of the 1MDB advisory board as well as the management of the state investment fund for the years 2009 and 2010.

Meanwhile, PKR believes there is enough incriminating evidence on 1MDB to charge its former chief executive officer Shahrol Halmi, Jho Low and Najib.
“Low and Shahrol have been proven to have breached the Anti-Money Laundering Act when they transferred money, without stating the receiver, as contained in the email exposed by Sarawak Report,” PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli said in a statement today.

CPIB has reported to the PM that the Prime Minister is not corrupt! That's why you can count on the PAP to be the least corrupt nation even amongst western democracies. Excellent i say.
