Fa Ji Bak Chor Mee at Kovan Food Centre (Hougang)

There are 2 stalls side-by-side. Not sure which one is good so just tikam tikam the one on the right.

Not bad. Pretty good standard. Fresh ingredients. Power chili too.

Kovan Rojak

Ate this Rojak at Kovan too. Again, pretty good stuff. Can fight with Whampoa Rojak!

This one is just a little "sour" than the sweet one at Whampoa.

Purvis Street Beef Kway Teow

This is an old picture. It has closed down for some time. Not sure they gave up or moved elsewhere.

Riyan Hidayat Satay & Mee Rebus

Formerly at Botanical Gardens and now at Serangoon Gardens Market Food Centre.

Still serves superb satay. The mutton satay is amazing. Mee Rebus is good too. But I guess many would go for their Mee Soto.

Their chili for Mee Soto is super power! Try it.

This is an old couple stall. They are still selling their famous claypot in Smith Street Food Centre. Their son is helping them now.

Founders Bak Kut Teh

They have a shop in Balestier and another in Rangoon Road.

Taste good, some say better than Ng Ah Sio BKT.

Xing Hua - Putien style white beehoon

There is a cheap and good white beehoon, similar to the one they do at Putien Restuarant (which is expensive).

Xing Hua does the same in a old kopishop at Rangoon Road. Taste the same as Putien if not better.

Good Spice Carrot Cake

This stall is at Pek Kio Market where you have to queue very long time.

It is very traditional, in the sense that the egg are fried "mushy mushy" style. You either like it or hate it.

I happen to hate it. Sorry. But if you read on the net, some old timers like it very much.

Rochor Beancurd at Selegie

Well, if you ask me, I think standards have dropped ever since they hired all these mainlanders to work for them.

Nonetheless, if you really have a craving for Beancurd in the middle of the night, you can go there for supper.

Do not confuse this one with the famous one done by the old man and his 2 daughters.

This one is nearby in the multi storey carpark. Not bad. Worth eating.

Blanco Court Kwaychap at Holland Drive Market

This stall at Holland Drive Market is run by an old couple, formerly from Blanco Court. Age is catching up and their son is now helping out.

Superb quality. I guess the secret is the Kway they used and the black soy sauce that makes the meal very fragrant.

Afandi Mee Rebus at Geyang/Haig Road Market

This has to be my all-time fav Mee Rebus. Extremely "solid" sauce and super power chili. The best I would say in Singapore!

Traditional Malay Putu Piring

If after eating Mee Rebus and Satay above, you need dessert, eat these traditional Malay Putu Piring at the same hawker centre. You would not regret it.

The palm cocnut filling is heavenly.

Expect to queue too cos lots of people "tapow" a lot.

Eng's Wonton Mee - formerly at Dunman, now at Tanjong Katong Road

One of the best Wonton Mee around. Old timers call it "Hiam Jio" Mee a.k.a. Chili Mee - cos the Chili is super spicy.

Try it. You wouldn't regret. Go easy on the chili cos it is really SPICY!
