Fucked Up parents allow their kids to set up Rich Kids Of S'pore Instagram Page

Members of the Instagram page Rich Kids of Singapore" (RKOS) engaged in a war of words with other users on Instagram recently.

The page was set up three weeks ago as a consolidated Singapore version of the latest craze that has youths posting photos from around the world flaunting their wealth on their social media pages.

The argument started when other Instagram users slammed the RKOS members for their posts of them flaunting their wealth.

The RKOS responded by defending their posts and slammed the other users for being haters.

The heated argument eventually involved quite a few Instagram users, and was noticed by a large group of netizens.

A new Instagram page dedicated to the "rich kids" of Singapore has been set up about three weeks ago.

Photos of youths from around the world flaunting their wealth on their social media pages are not new, but now, there's a consolidated version just for Singapore.

On the Instagram account, it is written:

"Singapore Is The Millionaires Playground, below are the most flamboyant, flashy and famous Rich Kids Of Singapore.

"DM us to nominate someone."

Good la....set themselves up as kidnap targets

What's the point of having all the trappings of wealth if you don't flaunt the stuff.

What's the use of such a useless post without any pics or link? You expect people to google for it?

Smart rich people who are low profile? Like the Kwee fella with his 30 plus cars? Paul Allen, Abramovich with their super yachts? Bill Gates and his mansion? Peter Lim?

Low profile rich (especially the ultra rich) is an oxymoron in these times. These people will literally die if you tell them not to tell the world how rich they are.

I would say that the vast majority of very rich people keep a low profile. Its the press and media that hound them and want to see what they drive and where they live. I have met Paul Allen once, he has a private helicopter, jets, etc. But he dress very casually, like Levi khakis etc when I saw him. No name brand clothes, no blink, no large diamond rings, etc. I also met Steve Jobs once at a business lunch. He was dressed like everyone else, in a business 2 piece suit. Came to the meeting without an entourage. I also attended a lunch for Stephen Wozniak (although I am not sure if he is in the same league as these people you mentioned), he was the most casual, almost a slob.

I know for people like Bill Gates, the media is always hounding them and publicize all their cars and houses, and other luxury assets. That is not their fault. mostly, they did not ask for it. The 2 Asian billionaires that I know personally (one is the father of a good friend and the other is close to my family) have all the trappings of wealth. But one you cannot tell, unless you know your Mercedes S class, in which case you may notice his is custom ordered from Germany. The other hosts a charity fund raising show once a year from his house. The local TV channel carries the event, so people can see the inside of his house. But people will never see the inside of his yatch, or his other high end properties or see where he goes for holidays. that's because he keeps a low profile and does not tell.

If you want further examples, just look at one of the world's richest man, Warren Buffet, and see how he lives. Also, look at the late Sam walton and see how he lived. And ditto for Ingvar Kamprad who still drives a 1993 Volvo 240 and flies economy class. And if that does not convince you, look at the richest family in singapore, the Lees. Do you see Hsien Loong or Old Fart being chauffered in a Rolls, or Maybach? Do u see Hsien Yang running around in a Maserati or Ferrari? These people can afford it for sure but don't.
