SINGAPORE - Singapore celebrities Fann Wong and her husband Christopher Lee have been named ambassadors of MB Group's upcoming project at Malaysia's Sungai Pulai wetlands in Iskandar Malaysia's Flagship Zone C.

The new mixed development project is located within a conservation area protected under Malaysia's Ramsar Convention. Spanning 75-acres, the Sungai Pulai Wellness resort will be built on a nature-themed concept, and will boast various holistic and wellness features.

A total of 1,351 apartment units and landed properties will be built on the premises, along with a 160,000 sq ft wellness clubhouse which will house a slew of fitness, health, medical, aesthetic and beauty services.

The first phase of the development, Canopus Residence, is expected to be completed by 2018.

Christopher Lee told reporters at the signing ceremony on Thursday that his favourite feature of the project was the 24-hour concierge medical service and on-site medical facilities. "The 24-hour medical facilities and availability of a nurse and physician makes the place perfect for our elderly parents," he said in Mandarin.

"Our dream home is one where our parents can live with us and be taken care of," Fann added. When asked what she wanted most for her dream home, she said that Sungei Pulai was a place which could provide her with a peace of mind. "We travel a lot for work, so it will be good to know that there are ready medical and childcare facilities at our doorstep," she said.

The couple also discussed bringing their baby boy to Sungai Pulai with them. One of the highlights for them was the Pulai river, which is considered a 'wetland of national importance'. "We could take Zed on a boat ride and watch the fireflies at night," Christopher said.

Fann added: "Since giving birth to our baby boy, Zed, we have put even more thought into the environment and community that would be good for Chris and I to raise not only our young family but to take care of our parents too".

According to the developer, residents at the new development will have access to various recreational activities such as organic farming, mangrove planting, bird watching and river cruises. Fann said her father would love the organic farming facilities, while mommy dearest would probably indulge in the holistic health services available in the compound.

While making trips to Malaysia may seem like a hassle for a family with a baby, the couple are already planning to take their little bundle of joy across the causeway more often. The Lees made their way to Malacca with baby Zed for the first time this month to visit Christopher's hometown there for Chinese New Year. Although it was a long ride, Zed was a cheerful baby and played well with his relatives.

But how does a busy couple like Christopher and Fann find the time to be with their child? It all boils down to effort, Fann said.

"With so much going on, people tend to get lazy and overlook the most important things. One must actively find the time to spend with family and learn to prioritise," she said.

The couple revealed in a private interview that they had chosen to forgo many work opportunities so that they could spend more time with their precious one. For Fann, this means having to give up personal time as well. "I've even stopped going for facials!" she laughs.

Despite that, the 44-year-old actress doesn't look a day over 30. Her secret to glowing skin? Baby Zed. "The way you feel influences the way you look. Being a mother means you have a constant happy vibe," she said.
