Fighting death. It is believed that if one makes a lot of noise, it will chase away death. Superstition.

Someone wanted to buy secondhand, they were doing test run

That I noticed too.....late at night too!....must be practicing for a very grand event, maybe two grand even, one for our 50th Anniversary of Independence & the other One In A Fifty Years FUNERAL service...

not civil unrest then?

Civil unrest?............u dun need fighter jets to quell that. In any case, there can neber be civil unrest in Singapore. In a family of 4, in general, 3 out of 4 are working for the government or government linked or temasek linked companies......you can't be killing your own family members right? To have civil unrest, there must be in-fighting within the government but there is no reason for in-fighting. All are bought over and the rest are kept nicely at bay.

It's over........dun expect the death of an old man to rock the boat. This boat is not about to sink any day now. It is pretty much secure...........until the next erection, at least. Civil unrest does not solve problem. It only gives legitimacy for the government to clamp down further on your rights and throw you in jail. Be smart about it. In general, most Singaporeans are already frogs in a slowly boiling pot. The only way for civil unrest is if the economy collapse due to global financial collapse, but this is not going to happen at this point in time. Maybe towards Sept to Oct 2015, then sell everything you've in the stock market and properties, for it will be all downhill from that point onwards.....but not now yet. The time is here. The owl is nearing, but not yet arrived.

yes...in any case by the time fighter jets launch to target civil unrest, they would be shot down by Malaysian or Indonesian jets since they would be violating their airspace.

I dunno about Indonesia, but I think any aircraft can fly through Malaysia without any consequence.
