2nd round of antibiotics, looks like first one didnt do the trick. mechanical ventilation, lungs are failing. not a doc, but thats the way i see it.

It's the machines that still allows some form of life function to continue as for his porlumpars and hopeless son, providing a gleam of hope that power should still stay with them.

If you are well enough to be looked after at home, your outlook is very good. Fewer than 1 person in 100 will die as a result of pneumonia. Those who die tend to be older people, or those who also have other health problems.

If the pneumonia is very severe, or caused by an aggressive type of germ (bacterium), such as legionella, you may need to be moved to an intensive care unit in the hospital. In these cases the outlook is much worse. Unfortunately, as many as half of these people may die.

don't understand why there is need to worry of the death of an elderly man.

He that has lived a full quality life style and is at the stage of death from old age and die of natural cause though old age 五福临门。

五福临门 - one who has attained wealth, health, virtue, longevity and died of natural cause through old age.

Not really, he is not dying peacefully and painlessly while asleep... so somewhere along the way, he fucked up and one of the 福 has been denied to him. :wink:
