Soon after she went to live with her paternal aunt in September 2010, her aunt's husband molested her while she was asleep at night.
When the 18-year-old girl woke up and saw him, he got up and went back to his bed.
She was so traumatised by the incident that she tried to kill herself. When she told her aunt about her ordeal, the aunt told her not to tell anyone about it for the sake of the family.
Stressed after living with the terrible secret for three years, she finally told another aunt and made a police report. Her uncle was then arrested.
The 58-year-old driver was jailed for 11 months after pleading guilty to one count of outrage of modesty on Monday.
