An Indian Foreign Talent who works in Singapore as a Restaurant Manager was recognised online after his friend, Yu Chen, wrote to STOMP explaining that Mr Alok had been going around giving red packets to needy strangers over the Chinese New Year Period.
Yu explained that Alok always donated to others including giving regular contributions to the heard foundation and other charity organizations.
Yu explained that Alok was not rich but he cared about others deeply and always spoke about how simple things can bring joy and love to the people hwo need it most.
He said that many of them may be in tough situations such as not having any families or are homeless or being forced to work on holidays as they do not earn a lot.
Alok said that he went around giving hongbao to people to bring them some festive cheer.
He believes that it is possible to make the world a better place by giving back to society and doing our part to help each other.
Alok himself is a foreigner here without much family but it was heartwarming to hear that he went out of his way to bring happiness to complete strangers.
