Two senior citizens were seen sleeping in cardboard boxes fashioned into ‘beds’ yesterday (Feb 15) 10.15pm at Block 8 of North Bridge Road.

Stomper Hockheng, who saw the two, hopes that there will be some good Samaritans who can welcome these senior citizens into their homes for Chinese New Year.

He said:

“Two senior pioneers were found sleeping at the void deck behind the ground floor shops at Blk 8 North Bridge Road on 15 February 2015 at 10.15pm.

“While we care for the strays, hopefully someone will help these two pioneers find a home where they can welcome the Lunar New Year within these three days.”

On a more serious note, it is alarming to find our pioneer generation falling through the cracks and poverty still existing in our fine city state while we celebrate SG50. Maybe we should cut down on song & dance and fireworks events, to help these poor folks.

Those homeless twits deserve their lot because they didn't plan for their retirement. You can't blame the PAP for that.

Definitely impossible to sleep outdoor in Toronto during this winter when the temperature has been consistently below 0C.
In fact, the day time high during the past month has been below 0C, hoovering around minus 5 to minus 20C, and in the minus 15 to minus 35C range during the past two weeks.

Pap says There are no homeless in Sg....these folks probably quarreled with their family or prefer to sleep outdoors.

This is very common sight in first world countries like hk jap korea etc.....
Shows that sg is also a first world country....huat to pap!
