Police called in to Pioneer Mall over hour-long shouting match between 2 men

A shouting match ensued at a supermarket in Pioneer Mall on Sunday afternoon (Feb 8), after a man had apparently knocked into a child and refused to apologise.
According to Lianhe Wanbao, the incident took place at the shopping mall in Jurong West at around 3pm.
A shopper had witnessed the incident and alerted both the police and journalists.
The incident is believed to have started after a man knocked into a boy -- who looked to be around 10 years old -- while the latter was running around the supermarket.
The boy's father approached the man and asked for an apology, only to be rejected.
The two men then engaged in a war of words with both refusing to back down, causing a tense atmosphere.
As the argument took part in the alcohol section of the supermarket, the manager was worried for the safety of other customers and chose to call the police instead of intervening.
The dispute lasted for an hour.
A police spokesperson confirmed that the incident had occurred, but said that no further assistance was required.
