Nothing is impossible when you pull all the strings in the country: the police, judiciary, media. Look at Shanmugam – one word about the affair or the subsequent arranged marriage and you'll be sued your pants off. And they'll win 100 out of 100 times.

That's why they have to get the mistress out of the country and pay her off, so that the succession plan stays on track.

It will very much depend on whether the pappies are willing to take the risk of the mistress coming back with the kid after this fella took over. If this is deemed to be too messy, I believe they will axe him and find another. You can control everything but you can't control this woman if she chooses to talk in the future. How are they going to prevent this? Silence her? Blow her up like what our good neighbour did?

There seems to acceptance at the highest levels that there will be regime change in 2021. The policy problems which were built up over 25 years appear impossible to resolve. The thinking now appears to be to try and earn as much as possible for personal piggy banks before it all ends in 2021.
