Doesn't concern me where I live, as long as I have work to do, place is somewhat safe, people obey the law of the land, basic services are available, and some leisure activities to make life interesting. But if rankings are important to you, here's some info to assist your decision. City life doesn't interest me, but have to admit that more jobs and services are available in cities than rural areas and for Toronto, the outdoors is only a convenient drive away. Not a bad city really. Cosmopolitan, great shopping, culture, arts, eats, and affordable.

Toronto best place to live in world, Montreal second: The Economist

Toronto and Montreal are the top two best places to live in the world, according to The Economist Intelligence Unit.
The information was revealed as part of a new report called The Safe Cities Index 2015, which also includes an “index of indexes” that averages out the scores of six Economist rankings, including the new one.
Toronto ranked only 8th and Montreal 14th in the new Safe Cities Index, but that was enough to make them highest overall when combined with the magazine’s livability rankings, business environment rankings, cost of living index, democracy index and food security index.
Ahead of Toronto in The Safe Cities Index are Tokyo, Singapore, Osaka, Stockholm, Amsterdam, Sydney and Zurich.
Here are the top 10 best places to live, according to The Economist:
1. Toronto
2. Montreal
3. Stockholm
4. Amsterdam
5. San Francisco
6. Melbourne
7. Zurich
8. Washington, D.C.
9. Sydney
10. Chicago
