Didn't do much. Orders came from the Ng brothers, not from Ravi.

All SAFOS scholars are assigned a mentor almost immediately. The mentor is either a minister or a perm sec. For example, TCH's mentor is LKY himself. The mentor's role is to groom and assess the scholars and by the time they hit the rank of colonel, an assessment on whether they are material for political office would have been made. Thus, it is common knowledge in the scholar community that if someone is promoted to Chief of XXX, it means he has been bypassed. Perhaps, it was true that the vacancy gap created by Neo's departure meant they have to accelerate CCS but I would say otherwise. Smart, critical but not a leader by any standard.

I would have thought TCJ stood a better chance but I guess CCS is better at sucking up.
