The conflict of interest was probably pointed out by Ernst and Young rather than the PAPzis. E&Y probably did not want their reputation tarnished by such avoidable conflicts.

It's also possible that the PAPzis then resisted removing Zaqy because having an auditor in the CEC was what they had wanted all along. E&Y could well have thrown a number at some point.

This was why it took 3 weeks to resolve.

I believe it was Ernst and Young who told Zaqy about the conflict of interest. What steps did Zaqy take except to preserve his job ? There are MPs who are CEOs and Directors of companies that do business with the government. When they do something about that I will respect them.

If Zagy had half a brain and professionally competent, he would have ensured that his name was not even in the list in the first place.
That they even found out about it three weeks later is indicative of the low level of competence all round, in the leadership, down to the
useless chiak liaw bee MPs.

In reality, the nation have been providing welfare state benefits "minimum wages" in millions to each individual leech aka papee, (juz because of one party rule system) to leeches aka papees leeching on the system. These leeches aka papees wasting nation's time and resources and etc every single second of the Mother Earth's day. By some unfortunate default, we as a nation have to put food on table and tonnes of $$$ for these leeches...

The country needs the government (employees of the public) to work for the country.
Can these leeches aka papees become self reliant? Get a job and be prepared to work hard
at least for once in a lifetime. Stop Leeching on the system.

Alamak, PAP knows that it can't hide like last time. It is common knowledge that EY is PAP's auditors. Don't make virtue out of necessity lah.

....MP Zaqy is no longer with the CEC.........due to “regulatory compliance reasons”. His employer, Ernst & Young, is the current auditor of PAP.......it took close to 3 weeks to discover Mr Zaqy’s conflict of interest serving as CEC member of PAP.

A Washington state court jury on Friday found Ernst & Young liable for millions of dollars in losses a Washington investment firm took from the collapse of Bernard Madoff’s Ponzi scheme.................the jury found the Big Four auditing firm was negligent in its work as auditor for a feeder fund that pooled investors’ cash and funneled it Mr. Madoff’s way. FutureSelect claimed that Ernst & Young, as auditor, supplied false information that FutureSelect Portfolio Management Inc. relied on to invest with the feeder fund............
