On the 10th of December 1993, one Chiam See Tong took the Singapore Democratic Party to court for wrongful expulsion and to sue for consequential reliefs.

Chaim See Tong was once the Secretary General of the SDP.

On 17th of May 1993, Chiam had attended a regular meeting of the Party’s Central Executive Committee (CEC). At this time, one of the CEC members, a young Dr. Chee Soon Juan, had gone on a hunger strike in protest against the termination of his employment with the National University of Singapore on account of some alleged misuse of the university’s research funds.

Chiam was concerned that the manner of protest that Dr. Chee had chosen would damage the reputation of the SDP....

Mr. Chan Chun Sing was right when he said that certain people like Chee were not honourable men.

Imho, if Chiam is really that good and durable, he would still remain the leader of SDP today. The fact is besides Chee, many others in the top leadership board then also wanted him out! He sued SDP almost as a matter of instinct as a lawyer and definitely out of sheer pride to salvage his badly bruised ego.

for so many GEs, chee has failed to improve anything.

why does he still have the audacity to reign the helm of SDP? doesn't he realise that he is the biggest liability that's preventing SDP from progress?

he is as lky as any power fanatic can be.

How about these old stories:

How an Old Man could not get along with Malaysia and Singapore was kicked out?

How a founding father and a former President worked for the Japanese during the war?

How never Marxist people were deprived off rights in the 1980s?

any other stories?

PS: Kee Chiu started it.

Most sinkies are grateful that we are not part of Malaysia. If we were, we would be as backward as they are today, and still aiming to be a developed country by 2020. Most of us don't want to live as 3rd class citizens simply because we are not Malays or Muslims.

Most sinkies since the 1960s knew that LKY worked for the Japs during WW2. They were okay with it. If that is your rationale for not giving them a chance to contribute to singapore, then our country would be much worse off today.

Sinkies knew that the marxist people were locked away by the ISA and were okay with it. They did not want the marxists to destroy our progressive country and turn it into some socialist shithole like Cuba.
