And 60 percent university students need financial assistance. Are they getting any or only saddled with student loans while FT students given free ride?

One third of students without pocket money is a return to conditions of the early sixties and before. This is not progress. If one third of students are are strapped what does it say about the economy at large ? This in an economy with low unemployment ?
LKY was against welfare but he decided that he would give the people three things; namely, education, affordable housing and decent healthcare. The rest was up to the individual. I thought that was fair. This plus his ability to provide jobs was what won him every election after independence. If the current regime cannot do this then they have departed from one of the principles of their iconic founders. The reason is clear. Plain greed.
