The PAP government has been spreading its propaganda in the schools since 1997.

This was revealed by then-deputy prime minister Lee Hsien Loong in 1997 in a speech to launch "National education" in Singapore.

"For Singapore to thrive beyond the founder generation, we must systematically transmit these instincts and attitudes to succeeding cohorts," Mr Lee had said.

"Systematically," he said.

"This ignorance will hinder our effort to develop a shared sense of nationhood."

"Ignorance," he proclaimed.

=> What nationhood? Did he not proudly proclaim that SG belongs to everyone?

He also said, "Through National Education, we must make these instincts and attitudes part of the cultural DNA which makes us Singaporeans."

So, the government was already looking in 1997 to "systematically" change Singaporeans' beliefs and imbue what the PAP wants them to believe into their "DNA".
"National Education is not just a book subject.

"It must appeal to both heart and mind.

"Unless you are personally convinced of its importance, committed to the cause and have the knowledge and passion to teach National Education competently and whole-heartedly, the plan will fail," he said to the educators.

"As teachers and principals, you carry most of the responsibility for giving your pupils a total education, and for their National Education.

"The moulding of the next generation is in your hands. You must imbue them with a strong sense of national identity and social responsibility. If we fail, all that we have painstakingly built up over decades can unravel and fall apart within a few years."

And so, teachers became party to the propaganda that the PAP was trying to spread.

First, the PAP needed to change their "hearts and minds".

"For example, MOE will produce a monthly series of videos for schools, to keep teachers updated on current affairs."

The teachers were not spared the propaganda. To be effective communicators of the PAP's propaganda, even they had to be brain-washed.

But what propaganda was the PAP trying to channel into the minds of Singaporeans?

"First, we must foster in our young a sense of identity, pride and self-respect as Singaporeans. This will strengthen their emotional attachment to the nation, and their sense of rootedness."

But he said, "We must never be over-bearing or arrogant, or look down on people from other countries."

=> Instead, SGs should despise themselves and look up to FTrash as God?

He also said, "We do not have all the answers for ourselves, much less for other countries."

=> Don't his daddy and his cronies go around preaching to other countries?

But it seems that the PAP today does not quite seem to behave as he had said. They hardly listen to the solutions propounded by Singaporeans today.

"Second, our young must know the Singapore Story - how Singapore succeeded against the odds to become a nation.

"National Education is not an abstract sermon on general principles of nationhood.

"It is to do with a special story, our story."

So, National Education was actually a "special sermon" to influence the believers.

And what is this "special sermon" about?

"As a British colony, from 1942 to 1945 for 3 years of the Japanese Occupation we suffered a traumatic experience of cruelty, brutality, hunger, and deprivation.

"We lived through the post-war years of Communist-inspired unrest and upheaval... Despite pressure and intimidation we stood firm in Malaysia against the communalists."

Again, communists insurgency, he said, which has been proven untrue over and over again.

Even the British archives disagree with the PAP what the PAP asserts about the "communists". And numerous historians have put paid to the PAP's claims that they had to arrest hundreds of opposition members, and labour and student unionists, claiming that they were "communists".

But there was no such evidence. The PAP fabricated it.

But no, National Education, the PAP says, this "special sermon" Singaporeans need to know.

And of course, how Singaporeans must continue to fear for our survival.

"It shows what external dangers to watch out for.

"Singapore is not as other countries.

"We will always be small, we will always worry about our water supply, we will always have to work harder and do better than other countries.

And the values that Singaporeans should believe in?

The PAP ones, of course.

"Our core values include the system of meritocracy which guarantees fair and full opportunities for all, multi-racial and multi-religious harmony, and honest and competent government working for the long-term interests of all Singaporeans.

And he praised the new citizens.

"We often take these for granted, because things have been this way in Singapore for a long time. But not new citizens, who often come with fresh direct experience of very different societies."

But how did the PAP infiltrate schools with their propaganda?

"National Education will begin in schools and continue in post-secondary and tertiary institutions. After ten to fifteen years of education, all students should know the facts about Singapore and feel attached to Singapore, their best home."

What about special education for the ministers?

"Those likely to go on to play leadership roles later should at least have had some preliminary preparation for their responsibilities."

And so, the PAP's propaganda will spread through "Social Studies and Civics and Moral Education (CME) at the primary level; History, Geography and CME at secondary level; and the General Paper and CME at the Junior Colleges.

"In addition, Literature and the languages can also be used.

"Pupils must ... develop a simple, unabashed pride in Singapore," Mr Lee said.

"They recite the pledge, sing Majullah Singapura, and recognise our flag.

"They should sense that (National Day) is a very special occasion."

And what milestones to use to imprint the propaganda into the people's minds?

Mr Lee rattled out, the Total Defence Day on the 15th of February, Racial Harmony Day on the 21st of July, International Friendship Day and National Day on the 9th of August.
Nicely spread throughout the year, the PAP propaganda.

Celebrations to be used to further ingrain the PAP's propaganda.

But "The Singapore Story is based on historical facts," Mr Lee said.

"We are not talking about an idealised legendary account or a founding myth, but of an accurate understanding of what happened in the past, and what this history means for us today.

"It is objective history, seen from a Singaporean standpoint."

The Singaporean standpoint? Does he mean the PAP's standpoint instead?

"But now 30 years after our independence the archives are starting to be opened, and the documents for this period are becoming available to historians.
"Progressively, a more complete picture will emerge."

He must be joking, you might think.

It was just early this year that the Worker's Party's Mr Low Thia Kiang said in parliament, "The National Archives of Singapore is the official custodian of public records and arguably the keeper of our collective social memory.

"In many democratic countries with advanced social and economic development, they have what has been famously termed, the “thirty-year rule”, whereby yearly Cabinet Papers are released for public information and research, thirty years after they are created.

"The principles behind the thirty-year rule, not only concern transparency and accountability to maintain public trust in the government, but also in encouraging historical investigation and writing, to foster a strong sense of national identity.

"Singapore will be 50 years old next year. It is timely that the Government adopts the thirty-year rule, legislates a Declassification Act and releases the first tranche of Cabinet Papers for public access," Mr Low said.
But no, said Second Minister for Ministry of Communications and Information Lawrence Wong.

Some countries have "gone somewhat overboard" with with freedom of information laws, and open access had not always led to better governance, he claimed.
Instead, it had led to more opaqueness and avoidance of records, he insisted.

But didn't Mr Lee say otherwise?

And even as the PAP wants Singaporeans to be brainwashed into their thinking, they are still worrisome.

"I am not proposing that students should form mini-political parties in schools, or demonstrate on the streets, as Chinese school students manipulated by Communist agitators did in the 1950s and 1960s."
But "Amnesia is not an option." he said.

Then sorry has also become the easiest word to say.

Since after saying sorry at the General Election in 2011, Mr Lee has also seemed to forget the promises he had made.

"If we didn't get it right, I'm sorry. But we will try better the next time," he said.

"Amnesia is not an option." he said.

But why apologise then?

"We considered carefully and I thought this was a suitable message to Singaporeans at this stage of the campaign, to focus minds on the key issues," he said.
Ah, for the campaign, so it seems.

For propaganda.

"This National Education programme is a major undertaking. Its effects are long term. We will not know for many years how well we have inculcated values, attitudes, and habits that emotionally bond our people to one another, as proud co-owners of their best home, Singapore."

And what else is Mr Lee unabashed about?

That "neither have we any reason to be ashamed to say, I am a Singaporean.

"In fact, quite the contrary," he said.

Quite the contrary indeed.

To "systematically transmit these instincts and attitudes to succeeding cohorts", to "make these instincts and attitudes part of the cultural DNA which makes us Singaporeans" and to "appeal to both heart and mind".
The PAP propaganda, transmitted since 1997.
