I know the truth hurts but that is a sad fact about the predicament that Singapore is in.
The best football manager in the world is not going to win the World Cup if his players don't have the basic skills required to play the game. Similarly it is extremely difficult for the PAP to keep Singapore on top of the game when citizens are nothing more than peasant simpletons with a third world mentality.
Hopefully the importation of foreigners will solve the problem in the long term. In the meantime, we just have to put up with slipping standards as we all know it is pretty futile to expect Singaporeans to behave in a socially responsible manner.

Do remember when we was 11 years old, we use to take a gunny sack, 3 bamboo pole to go around the estate drains hole, start catching rats, on a good night we catch about 15, buy a bottle of spirit 火酒 cost only 5 cent, pour it on the rats and see them burnt and run to the canal behind block 8 Jalan Tenteram....

Haha you brought back my nightmare. We would release the burning rat into a drain and watched the fire ball racing down the drain. Then came this unforgettable tough rat. Instead of running along the drain, it ran up, dashed across an open patch and into somebody's house. The wooden house nearly caught fire and we Kanna whacked jialat jialat...
