was he a lasup mata?:oIo:

Hearsay is that he was pretty wild as a Colombo Plan scholar at University of Newcastle in Australia but it did not affect his grades. When PSC Chairman Tan Teck Chwee appointed him to the Intelligence Service upon his return, doubt that he knew about this. Whilst at SPH, he had an interesting group of friends who were men about town.

Mr Tjong is one of Singapore's more controversial figures, a former schoolmate of Deputy Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and a long-time head of the Internal Security Department, which has frequently used its state-sanctioned powers of arrest and detention without trial to round up local dissidents.
