SKYPE is the apps she uses to call us. can also see her and her lodging .

Then you should recommend your relatives to get connected to the internet so that they don't have to rush to hang up. Since it doesn't cost anything extra if both sides are using a PC to connect. via skype

In Thailand all the internet shops offer skype connectivity so people can make cheaper international calls from one of these shops. The phone cards are also cheaper there. Only 100baht($4) for a SIM card available at any 7-11 store. I have my Thai SIM card activated for 1 year. It only costs 2 baht to keep the card activated per month i.e. 10 cents.

you should have alerted your friend to switch off mobile data if his sole intention and purpose of the sim card is to make/receive calls and send SMS.

Ad hoc data charges are very costly. If your friend really needed to use the internet, he should have signed up for the data plan on the singtel hi-card (prepaid card).

I believe it is $7 for 1GB for 7 days. He would still have $13 for calls/sms.

he's a foreigner from 3rd country and wasn't aware of such invisible "daylight robbery" here. when he bought the singtel phonecall, neither did the singtel staff reminded or instructed him about such kind of incident.

LTB because no demand for sms/mms so teleco give free.

If high demand like data plan, price keep increasing.

Common business sense.

i think mms if send by the the standard format is chargeable at 80c per send. at first i tot FOC cos i read my contract, it stated there were 20 free mms sending free per mth.

basket!! this one is a fucking big hoax! they still charge.

anyone wonder why HDB flats dont have free wifi?why town council dont provide free wifi points?

i dont see the fucking reason why in such a densely populated country every single flat needs to have its own broadband or 300mb/s fibre,i mean seriously?just put 5 or 6 wifi spots in the whole hdb flat, and the whole block share the monthly bill of $400 a month, less than $5 per household.

libraries have free wifi, hostels have free wifi, hotels have free wifi, casinos have free wifi.obviously wifi infrastructure is big enough to cover entire buildings.

sometime all these gahmen people and the businesses they are running are like a syndicate. they help each other to suck the people dry.....just like their evil master pap.

with watsapp and some other apps which provide free sms, mms and free call airtime which even include long distance, why is singtel still charging like nobody's business?

my niece who's abroad always calls back. monster in law, her grandma would hurry her to hang up becos long distant call is very expensive. but niece told her not to worry. it's FREE OF CHARGE! and we could even see her on the handphone.

just whatsapp everyone and you'll be fine.
