my view is that they keep on expanding their stimulus, only the rich will benefit. in the long run, resulting in poor govt and poor pple, many countries, like in euro zone, all are in deep shit after they print and print. one word to describe is not sustainable. looks to me abe is trying to get into good books of the rich industrialists. :rolleyes:

I think Japan has a greying population problem at the moment. There is going to be insufficient young working people to support a rapidly older age group.

Why is the recessions a surprise?

The VAT was increased from 5% to 8% with plans to eventually increase it to 10%. I'm sure that many Japanese made their major purchases "before" the VAT was increased to 8%. This is just human behaviour.

japan is on the path to extinction. older japs who have retired, saved, and enjoying pension payouts are living the good life. younger ones are struggling, and more are living with their parents and not marrying. it's just a matter of time before japan implodes. no nation on this planet can last forever based on uncompromising notions and idealism of a nationalistic and homogenous population. unlike sg, which is managed realistically, prudently and practically well by the pap when they notice that sinkies are behaving like japs: getting stale and old, lazy, becoming selfish, entitlement-minded, protectionist, nationalistic, proud, arrogant and stubborn. nothing is more fitting than injecting some low crass immigrants from impoverished cuntries into the mix to stick spurs into the collective hide. :biggrin:

True to a certain extent but the execution is horrific. Infra and services not upgraded and integration considerations not examined.....leaving everyone upset and confused.....just so to cement and entrench the ruling elites and nothing else. Hence, this will implode in Singapore much sooner than in Jepun.
