JOHOR BARU, Sept 11, 2015:
The former residential area of Bukit Chagar here will be the terminal station location for the Rapid Transit System (RTS) from Singapore. Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said that Bukit Chagar had been identified as the station’s location by both the federal and state governments.
“With the agreement of the station’s location, the government hopes that the RTS project can be jointly carried out by Malaysia and Singapore as soon as possible,” he said after a visit to SJKC Pei Hwa 2 in Permas Jaya here, today.
Liow assured the public that detailed plans are currently being discussed with the Johor State Economic Planning Unit.
“The Transport Ministry hopes to announce the details soon with the location of Bukit Chagar for the RTS’ terminal station in Johor Baru,” he said, adding the government also hoped to settle the matter as soon as possible.

In Malaysia, until you see the completed project, everything else is just empty words. If you can go in with this sort of mindset, then investing in JB is for you.

RTS and HSR are likely to be delayed indefinitely. The Malaysia government is not serious about both, particularly RTS. The R&F Princess Cove severely restricts the options of RTS rail alignment and station location. The property lull should last for another 2 years at least.

And this is the conspiracy theory for why they delay the plan while Singapore are ready. Because the land surrounding RTS station will be kim kwei bu (golden hen in hokkien), and they need time to acquire the land. If announce early early...or even gazetted, the whole kim teng park will be too pricey to acquire. And they used a private company with state gov to backup to acquire...n kena a lot of resistance from the residences because of beh song interest party will benefit from the acquisition. I wonder whether they will delay again in next joint ministerial meetup because any further delay will ruin singaporean investors confidence and not so good for ah jib gor gov.

So many block can fit inside this site?

There are actually about 15 tower blocks with some connected and are all closely packed into this site.
But how come there are only 4 tower cranes on the site when there is usually one tower crane for each high rise block?
Is work slowing down or something?
Maybe Cslong or Relaxman can explain.

Then it will have very high density considering there are 3200 household living above the 3 story shopping mall.

Some facts for you to ponder in case you believe what you just heard.

The link terminal of the proposed RTS on SG's side is in Woodlands, located near to Republic Polytechnic, confirmed.
This northern terminal is the last station on the Thomson Line which runs all the way towards the Garden By The Bay, passing through Sin Ming, Great World, Havelock etc.
Construction of the Thomson Line began in 2014 where the groundbreaking ceremony took place in Woodlands in June 2014.
The portion between Woodlands and Caldecott is expected to complete by 2020.

As for the RTS, not even a single plan had been approved to date and there were no confirmation of rail alignment and people can simply announce the completion date in 2018?????

Apparently, the sales of the Chinese development in JB are not doing too good.
The Country Garden which was mentioned, was already in the market for more than 2 years now but was only able to sell 6,400 units out of 9,400 units launched.
Two years later and still left with 1/3 unsold is bad news for the developer.
With the RM depreciated so much from the launch date, the progressive payment collected now and later will have a corresponding lower value and this will hurt them even further.
And now with the slow market and unstable current political situation, they can't even increase the selling price for the balance units to make up the losses.
Perhaps they might even lower their prices just to clear stock soonest possible and hopefully able to break even or just made a little money, pack up and go home.
So, a good chance you might be able to pick up some good deal soon in this buyer's market.

This only shows that many property investor experts are very confident with this project. Morever, why SP Setia can get award recently after so many problems and agonies inflicted to their house buyers?
