Aljunied GRC MP Sylvia Lim had asked the Minister of Home Affairs about the number of female visitors who came on “study mama” passes to Singapore and stayed in Singapore after their children finished their studies.

Ms Lim had asked how many and what the reasons were for them staying on in Singapore.

Minister Teo Chee Hean explained that as of the end of 2013, there were 4,800 female “study mamas” here on Long Term visit Passes (LTVPs) that had up to 1 year validity.

Their children or grandchildren were here in Singapore on a Student Pass.

Minister Teo pointed out that this number is lower than the 6,500 that there were at the end of 2004.

DPM Teo also shared that once the student completes study, his or her student pass will expire and the student and the mother or grandmother with the associated LTVP would then have to leave Singapore.

However, Mr Teo also said that in some instances, the mothers can stay on in Singapore if, for example, they qualify for a work passes as these a separate to their LTVP.

What is interesting is that DPM Teo did not answer Ms Lim’s question as he failed to explain what portion of study mamas stay on in Singapore. He also only gave one example of how they might stay here.

Recently, there had been a case where a Singaporean family was broken up by a study mama who had accompanied her daughter here and then proceeded to become a mistress to a Singaporean father and husband. (See: PRC mistress breaks up Singaporean family again)
This is not an uncommon problem with many Singaporeans having heard similar stories before.

However, DPM Teo did not give any figures on the number of study mamas who found other ways to stay on in Singapore.

Yes the same goes with drugs, gambling, prostitution and variations of these vices.

Actually, Big Nose Rear Admirer Teo and his MIWs have indirectly answered the question, as usual - when they:

a) refuse to give a direct answer (too big an embarassment)
b) practise their (black) art of taji when responding

They still don't seem to realise that they are making fools of themselves, although THEY keep thinking that they have managed to yet hoodwink us yet again.

This I fully agree. No government is good government. The moment any government look into something, the prices go up. Better not to have a government if there're much more cons than pros. Why vote to have someone to rule over you? Your parents give birth to you to be ruled by others, is it? Don't be stupid. Wake the fuck up.
