I refer to the report, “Apex court rejects constitutional challenges against Section 377A” (Oct 30). Section 377A of the Penal Code was enacted during colonial times, when the existence of homosexuality was practically unknown.
In that era and the context of the heterosexual sphere, homosexual acts would no doubt have been viewed as indecent. Decades have passed, though, and scientists have since conducted studies that have found that genes influence male sexual orientation.
In this new scientific context, it would be inappropriate and unfair for society to judge the issue of homosexuality from the heterosexual perspective alone.
Perceptions of the relationship compatibility of two people based on their superficial appearances would not be accurate; the same goes for sexual compatibility.
Some questions I have for Christians and Muslims:
If God is not the one living in this world to have lived as every man and woman on this planet, how would God be qualified to tell humanity how to live in this world?
How would God know what is the most compatible thing/person for every person? At the end of the day, man still has to judge what is most compatible for himself.
Since the world is currently over-populated, and Christians believe that they have to reproduce in order to practice the will of God, does not having children mean that one is not living according to the will of God, does it mean the Man has to populate the world even until there is no more space for living?
Why must everyone have children when most people are already doing a good job of having children? Do people who cannot have children due to infertility issues be condemned to Hell?
