The ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) has inspected the pitch of the National Staidum and decided that they will go ahead and hold the Suzuki cup in Singapore.
However, half of the games will be moved to Jalan Besar stadium as the grass at the National Stadium is still not good enough.
Only those games expected to have large crowds will be held at the National Staidum which has a much larger seating capacity.
All other matches will be held at Jalan Besar Stadium.
The National stadium can hold up to 55,000 fans while the Jalan Sesar Stadium can only hold 8,000.
The matches being held at each stadium are as follows:

Following AFF’s decision, Mr Zainudin Nordin, the president of the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) explained that Singapore is grateful for AFF’s approval.

SportsHub also said that they are pleased with the decision to go ahead and hold some games at the national stadium and they explained that they are committed to optimise pitch recovery.
The AFF Suzuki cup is not the only event to have been affected by the poor grass at the National Stadium.
The Maori All Blacks Rugby game against the Asia Pacific Dragons was cancelled by organisers citing unsafe conditions.
Jay Chou’s concert here was also postponed for a month and a half and a concert last week for Mariah Carey was also moved so it would not be on the problem-plagued pitch.
This is despite earlier assertions from SportsHub that they would go ahead with all these events.

Ai ya.... Sports hub is open for mega concert. Not for some stupid football.

Imagine per ticket is price at $80 sgd for a concert .

$80 x 40000 =$3.6 Million per night per sitting.

I was at Kallang Wave for lunch today. It was bright and sunny but the retractable roof of the stadium was closed. Shouldn't it be opened to let the grass absorb the sun rather than from the pathetic artificial light?

You have already invested so much in those artificial lights, might as well make full use of them and maximise your returns on investment.

Think from a SAF scholar's perspective, not from one with common sense.

I remember the Commonwealth games that was held in India: cost over runs, many quality problems,....

The same problems that Spore is facing. Spore has regressed to a third world country. Many are from the 3rd world, over crowding, things not working, corruptions, ...

dont worry the business at kallang wave is very good,as long as the mall is always open and in full swing, they will recover the investment in no time.

in fact they should just turn the goddam stadium into 100,000 sqft shopping complex, wow imagine the amount of retail space,i think can easily hit 1 billion dollar revenue a year.

guys can u imagine?a mustafa center the size of a stadium?dont need individual outlet just pack the stadium with cheap imports from US and China.....the stadium will be jam packed with sinkies every day.
